Having spoken with numerous rural councillors and mayors over the past few days, I’ve heard a common frustration: a competing provincial election will only make it harder to engage residents in civic affairs, something all municipalities already struggle to do.
This from a @bcndp press release today:
"While the Conservatives look to Donald Trump & his politics for direction, BC NDP candidates are focused on putting BC first and making sure local communities have a strong voice in the decisions that affect their future."
Is that why @Dave_Eby ignored BC mayors who asked him not to run a provincial election on top of municipal campaigns? Because he wants to give local communities a strong voice?

The federal government provided $230,000 for The Great Land Grab, a travelling exhibit that portrays Vancouver Island’s historic E&N Railway land grant as an ongoing conflict between Indigenous land rights and private property.
As PLUS' @WarrenMirko writes in @TheHubCanada:
“The exhibit says the government is responsible for ‘the big giveaway’ while relying on federal funding to deliver the message, proof that in Canada we sometimes pay for the rope used to hang ourselves."
By funding and promoting this narrative, the federal government is helping legitimize a challenge to the underlying private property system itself.

I was contacted while in gov and never had an issue. I’ve also used it myself to get stalled files moving.
All provinces & Ottawa maintain a directory, but not BC?

Unproven Aboriginal title recognized by the deal. DRIPA Section 7 consent vetoes already in place for major mines. And our Province keeps paying for services while a membership-based government holds the real power.
How does this keep happening with no accountability to ALL British Columbians.

I’m hearing concerns from residents throughout Howe Sound about land-use agreements and backroom deals that commit public authority and public funds without public awareness.
