A fun thing I learned this weekend is that even though I pay for everyone else’s retirement, health care, food, childcare, and schooling—not to mention all the foreign militaries I subsidize—wanting at least some of my tax dollars to benefit me is apparently communism. I learned this from conservatives who’ve conserved nothing but the welfare state, infinity immigration, left-wing cultural victories, and forever wars, so that’s fun.
