How is it “definitely more pronounced among young white men?” Imagine writing that it is definitely more pronounced young black men. Do you notice anything in this picture?

The average student debt load is higher in the UK than the U.S. The US doesn’t count the future value of pensions as wealth like in the UK and if you look at median wealth by race, white & Asian Americans (2/3 of population) are the wealthiest people in the world.

Now do median disposable income where the U.S. ranks #1 adjusted for PPP and social transfers. And median wealth is distorted by property bubbles & counting the future value of pensions. The median U.S. white and Asian population (2/3 of pop) rank extremely highly

The wealth is literally just the world’s biggest housing bubble. Housing accounts for 70% of Australian wealth vs 40-50% in U.S. Factor in PPP & hours work and Australia doesn’t look great.

The median U.S. white/Asian net worth is comparable (2/3 of population and comparable demographics to Australia). And only 40-50% of US net worth is housing versus 70% for Australia. The higher net worth is mostly the world’s biggest housing bubble. The wealth in the U.S. is in the suburbs where most people live, not the city centers like most countries (which is where poor & homeless people are in the U.S.). Go to any suburban area, where most tourists never go, and you will see where the wealth is at. The homeless you see are drug addicts, not people who are down on their luck.

IDK why Ford or Canadians in general got the idea they could cut the U.S. off from electricity. The U.S. imports less than 1% of its electricity from Canada and it can be easily replaced from other parts of the grid and Canada imports a ton of electricity from the U.S. when hydro resources run low.

Around 40% of the Swedish fighter’s components are American, including minor stuff like the engine and avionics. Canada is really showing the U.S. by passing on a 5th gen fighter for a 4th gen fighter whose most important systems are American.

Housing wealth comprises ~60% of net worth in many European countries compared to ~40% for the median white/Asian American, who are very wealthy in comparison to other developed nations. Non-Asian minorities have a similar % to countries like Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. What makes the U.S. unique is so many people have much of their net worth in equities due to 401Ks.

Also, what happens when the city grocery stores lose a lot of money that they don’t have the tax revenue to pay for because they are operating at a loss. Or when they drive private grocers out of business while at the same time being unable to keep up with demand and running out of staples. This will lead to food shortages.

So just 2/3 of Canada’s population?

This was my OP. What you are saying is irrelevant to my point. And there is this thing called federalism. American states have wide latitude to set policy.

When it comes to knife homicides. both cities sit in the same ~0.5–0.8 per 100,000 band, with NYC running marginally ahead. But what if I told you murder isn’t the only crime committed using a knife?
31
They are about even on knife crime murders, but when you count ALL knife crime the UK leads and it isn’t close.

The U.S. is 57% white versus ~85% in the UK. The demographics are completely different and when you control for race U.S. crime rates look very different. NYC is safer than London.
1
114
No, it doesn’t. The knife murder rate is essentially identical, but knife crime incidents are far more common in London than in NYC. And per FBI data, black males (6-7% of US population) commit ~60% of murders. Again, avoid certain populations in the U.S. and you will be fine. But in London, knife crime affects a wide range of people.
22
The homicide rate is concentrated in small pockets of the city no normal person is going to. London is far less safe for the average person.

Did you check this at all before posting? NYC is safer than London outside of the murder rate and 4% of New York City’s ~120,000 blocks account for nearly all of the city’s shootings. So, unless you join a street gang in the Bronx you will generally be okay.

The British median is highly inflated due to factoring in the future value of pensions. And the U.S. number is impacted by the very low black and Hispanic numbers. The median White/Asian American is wealthier than anyone except for a tax haven that doesn’t count half its workforce and two fellow Anglo settler colonies that have the most inflated home values in the world.

92% of Americans have insurance and most who don’t qualify for free/discounted coverage. The U.S. doesn’t ration care and has higher quality services, minimal wait times, and higher paid healthcare workers. And the infant mortality rate is due to counting extremely premature live births plus an abysmal black infant mortality rate.

You also need to factor in racial differences. The U.S. white/Asian population (2/3 of population) have amongst the highest median wealth figures in the world with only a tiny tax haven that doesn’t count half its workforce & 2 countries with the most inflated housing costs close.

The U.S. white/Asian population (2/3 of U.S.) are essentially the richest people in history with only a tiny tax haven that doesn’t count half its workforce and two fellow Anglo settler countries with the most inflated housing costs in the G-20 ranked higher at the median level. And 18% of U.S. households are millionaires, so it is far from a few oligarchs.

Canada and Australia have the most inflated housing markets in the worlds. This is just a result of Canadian boomers having wildly inflated home values.
