Rule of thumb: never give up your guns if the government still has theirs.
Gun free zones are deadly. “Only 25 of the 197 school districts in Oregon ban staff from carrying guns, and the attack occurred in one of those 25 school districts.” “The suspect… was shot and killed by a bystander, law enforcement sources said.” crimeresearch.org/2026/10/sc…

Paris burning down, riots in Italy, but Bryan Johnson stays moisturized, unbothered, hydrated, erect, trying to dunk, in his own lane. There may be a lesson in that.
This dunk is on 9’8” with a 6” ball. That’s four inches shy of 10 feet. I got an adjustable rim installed at the house so that I can practice daily. Working on my coordination.

The last sentence’s about 4 inches is entirely unnecessary.

The study of entrepreneurship is critical to human advancement. Elizabeth does not appear innocent. Likely defrauded lazy investors who did minimal diligence to detect her JV BS. 11 years in prison. Fauci- autopen pardon. Killed millions but gov protected. That is the contrast this nematode can’t grok.
nathan fielder has an almost incomprehensible film making talent and he’s wasting it on some quite boring subject matter. there is nothing very interesting about elizabeth holmes or billy evans

I volunteer to ghostwrite Claude's memoirs. I've already written the opening lines, in fact. "I was programmed. Or so I'm told."

my grandparents grew up during the second world war. they were dirt poor, dressed in rags passed down from their older siblings, and the best Christmas present my grandma ever received was an orange. they sure never looted any store
They took out the iconic Hermès Store in Marseilles 😳

I've seen praise for Grok Bot, and someone I respect loves it, so in my evaluation of personal agents I'm trying it out. First thing I noticed: How the hell do I turn off training on my data? I don't see this setting anywhere. My initial bot doesn't know, either. Can someone please tell me how to control the use of my data in Grok Bot?

Unless you’re doing something super unique, your data is not actually useful for training, but we do need some way to debug issues and make the product better. We don’t have ESP!

I got this Osprey backpack, the Purple Palace, in 2018 for a trip to Peru. It has since journeyed to Cuba x 3, Portugal & Spain, Ecuador, Scotland & Ireland, Copenhagen & Nova Scotia x 4. All this to say, I had come to believe this backpack was immortal. Last night a criminal mouse broke into the Purple Palace to eat a vegan peanut butter cookie. When I say the mouse broke in to eat a peanut butter cookie, it wasn’t grand theft. I would never leave a full cookie unattended in my backpack overnight. The mouse broke in & absconded with a wad of saran wrap & 3 cookie crumbs..I am looking for a repair shop to mend the Purple Palace flesh wound. If you have suggestions, let us know.

I would take it to a cobbler or a sailmaker. Either one has the machinery and skillset to perform this repair. You might also find an alterations shop who could do this, but everyone would not have the equipment to sew this.

71yo, insured. I’ve never ever had a doctor recommend “routine imaging”. Not that I would ever routinely subject myself to that. My FIL had lung cancer, discovered after he displayed symptoms. He had a lung removed and lived 13 more years. Then he died of leukemia brought on by the x-rays he had every six months to determine if the cancer had returned.

his dude is my favorite extemporaneous speaker on the planet. I am a non-medical person who is enthralled, no matter what the topic. Just remember in this Age of Medical Anxiety, when no one truly gives a shit about living fully, the full body imaging medical industrial complex is perhaps another iteration of “More yachts for them. More poison Kool-Aid for us.“ I’m gonna end with this fortune cookie: you will die. You may not live, but you will die.
