Please retweet, appeal for information #BURRYPORT #CARMARTHENSHIRE #WALES #UK 20 SEPT 2026 RSPCA Cymru has issued an appeal for information to try and track down the owner of a thoroughbred horse found in a poor condition in Burry Port. The bay gelding is around eight years old and was removed by the RSPCA from the Graig area on Sunday 20 September. He was found in an isolated field by RSPCA Inspector Holly Brown and is now safe in the charity’s care. Now, RSPCA officers are keen to find out more about him. His microchip wasn’t registered so enquiries are being made to track down the owner. RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector Gemma Cooper said: “This thoroughbred was found in a poor condition and was thin. “He has now been taken into our care for veterinary treatment. “We don’t know who he belongs to so we’re issuing an appeal to help with enquiries. We’d also like to thank those members of the public who have called this in and we hope he will be able to make a full recovery. Anyone with any first hand information can contact the RSPCA Inspectorate Appeal Line on 0300 123 8018 and can quote 01907354. An unclaimed dog can be killed by the council after just 7 days if there are no local rescue shelters with space. Rescue shelters are full !! #UK Councils are still issuing new licenses to breed!! We need to halt breeding, ban pet selling sites and the sales of pets on all social media platforms. There should be huge fines for non compliance. In some countries it is mandatory to take out insurance when you get a pet. Our chipping procedure does not work. All breeders are required, by law, to chip a puppy before sale. Scam breeders chip pups it to avoid traceability. New owners need the chip number to be able to add their own details to the database used. New owners often believe the vet has added their details to the chip when it was implanted. This is not the case. If all of these stray dogs were chipped correctly and had been bought and sold by people who cared about their welfare, we would not have this current pet crisis. Can you please share for Odin to help him on his way? Odin is a beautiful 3 year old male Border Collie. He is available and looking for a new home. Sadly due to the owners health , Odin needs someone who can provide him the stimulation and attention he needs. He is very much loved but would be best in a home with someone who can give him lots of walks and attention. He is chipped and neutered and healthy with no concerns. Odin can be wary of strangers to begin with and would need a little time to get use to anyone new. He is okay with some pets and can be wary of others - due to this, he’d be best in a home with no other pets to save him any unsettlement. Odin eats dry and wet food and is also crate trained. He loves toys and can be strong on the lead. Odin has had the same owner since being a pup. He isn’t a fan of the hoover but does love to play with a ball. He is more of a fan of women than men, so may be best with a lone female looking for company, although we will consider male households too. Odin is very loving and affectionate. No cats.
