maybe it's not "have you used AI?". maybe it should be "have you experienced AI?"

windshield wipers are no joke. Mary Anderson invented them in 1903 ("for electric cars and other vehicles"!), R. Kearns got screwed by the big 3 on his intermittent wiper patent and tesla filed one on an electromagnetic rail. but 120y later we're still rubbing.. rubber on glass
I resigned from Tesla today. I spent the last three years doing windshield wiper research at both Tesla and Rivian. Neither are acting responsibly. They’re racing straight toward self-improving windshield wipers and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

this must be the most underrated tweet of the year
Replying to @emollick
Agents have no proof that humans are real. Cameras, pfft - all digital signal can be simulated. This will matter.

this guy transplanted an nvidia jetson inside the reachy mini. so cool!
My project to put an Nvidia Jetson inside the Reachy Mini is progressing! One part left to re-print and I'll replace the base with a jetson brain. I'm excited! So is the "customer" in the armchair. @ClementDelangue this feels timely given you all are joining forces with Nvidia. The reachy is great!!

the trillion dollar question: if everybody can spawn n agents for cheap, nobody gets in anymore. how do you think this pans out? new paywalls? monopolies? new verticals? who wins?
The whole experience begs some interesting questions ab the future of the internet Like if everyone has an agent running errands for them, every site w/ scarce inventory has a few paths: 1. Ban bots entirely 2. Build for agents w/ their own rate limits, auth, and endpoints (e.g., recognize this is JC's agent) 3. Ship their own agent so the only bot on the platform is theirs (e.g., I tell Resy I want a table for 2 at these places on this date and its system handles for me) 4. Let the bots in and run it as an auction - the reservation goes to whoever is willing to pay the most 5. Something else entirely? And there will be a good amt of pain + a lot of accounts are gonna get banned while everyone figures it out

Remember the Nokia N91 from 21 years ago? It packed a genuine 4GB Toshiba mechanical hard drive right inside a mobile phone. From spinning magnetic disks to 2TB of silent, lightning fast flash storage in our pockets today. What a wild hardware evolution. I wonder if the storage jump feels even crazier when you remember how fragile those old microdrives were if you dropped your phone while playing music. #TechHistory #MobilePhones #Nokia #Storage #FlashMemory #Gadgets

ref. proliferation of robotaxis, waymos and zooxes; can be done wisely - eg V2V comms, routing and dispatch, infra designed for AVs along fewer personal cars to crowd streets. think how you never see a waymo parked, just occupying space.
Imagine Uber could supply as many cars as people wanted and charge 70% less for every ride. Would you expect traffic in a typical American city to improve? I would expect it to get worse as trips greatly increase. That is why I suspect robotaxis will increase congestion, even after the transition to autonomous driving is complete. People would make journeys they currently skip. Someone who stays home because they don’t want to drink and drive would go out. Parents could send a car to collect their children. Older people who no longer drive could afford to travel more often in Cybercabs. Making transportation cheaper and easier would create additional demand, not simply replace existing car trips. Then there is Musk’s proposal for owners to earn money by putting their cars into Tesla’s shared fleet, effectively an Airbnb for cars. I expect some people would buy vehicles specifically to rent them out, expanding the supply of rides. My bet is that robotaxis will give us more mobility but more congestion. I welcome the freedom they offer, particularly to people who cannot drive but unless they are shared or have a congestion charge traffic in NYC, LA, Miami will get worse.
