While Albo focuses on endless redistribution and squeezing everyday Australians, the International Monetary Fund just dropped an urgent warning on fiscal management that blows holes right through Labor's strategy. The IMF’s message is clear, governments drowning in deficits and high debt costs need tax changes that drive economic growth and slash compliance costs, not a chaotic web of new taxes that paralyse business. Look at the damage already being done: Labor's chaotic budget changes to capital gains, trusts, and negative gearing are a complete mess. CPA Australia estimates it will cost $2.8 billion in advice alone just for the 840,000 trusts caught in the net. The IMF explicitly warns that unclear, constantly changing tax laws hit small and young firms the hardest. It creates massive uncertainty, freezes investment, and drags focus away from actual production. Five months after the budget, peak bodies like the Australian Industry Group note we still don't have workable legislation for most announced measures. Major investment decisions are stuck in a holding pattern because nobody knows how these rules actually operate. When the quality of tax administration is low, small businesses are hit with a massive productivity penalty. Improved, simpler tax design can materially strengthen GDP, but instead, this government is choosing to drown the economy in complexity and red tape. We don't need a government finding 125 different ways to tax productivity out of existence. We need clarity, efficiency, and a system that lets Australian businesses actually grow. And a brand new government voted in at the next election. These guys aren’t it.
