How can you call yourself a Christian if you don't believe in the literal Resurrection? Call me a Christian or don't. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, I've heard it both ways. Without the Resurrection, the New Testament is a lie, and He was a liar. Paul settled this 2,000 years ago: "If Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." You can love a teacher named Jesus. You can't have Christ without an empty tomb. So James, do you agree with your pastor? Because loving "Jesus" while rejecting the Resurrection sounds a lot like the Marxist who says he loves America but wants to tear up the founding documents and the system that freed more people from poverty, slavery, and tyranny than any in history. Can someone explain to me why I should devote even one iota of time and effort to helping the regime media outlets that President Trump banned from the White House? Why would we spend any time at all supporting their cause, time we could be spending to support our own? 1. Would those media outlets help us if the tables were turned? Well, we already know the answer to that. They were eager participants in the cancelation of conservatives under Biden. So no, they would not help us. Why would we help them? 2. By helping them, don’t we help ourselves by preserving freedom of speech? No. See above. We already know they have zero interest in our freedom of speech, and, in fact, actively oppose it. 3. But isn’t it important for people to have a free press? Yes, in theory, but the unspoken premise is that these outlets are part of a free press. They aren’t. They are committed ideologues devoted to attacking us and undermining our country. 4. Aren’t you just bitter about the way the Washington Post printed a story about you full of false innuendo accusing you of something you didn’t do and failing to disclose readily available information that would’ve undermined that negative narrative? In fact, the regime press is garbage, as that incident reaffirmed. Why should I spend any of my time or effort caring about what Donald Trump did to them? Remember, we only have a limited bandwidth for genuine caring, and can only focus on so many things at any one time. We all choose what we focus on. I choose not to help our enemies regain a position from which they can further cause us harm. Instead, I choose to focus my efforts on defeating my enemies in the midterms. In exchange, those printers agreed to police what got printed. That was the deal. Control for the Crown, a cartel for the incumbents, and both sides called it public safety. The Star Chamber decrees of 1586 and 1637 finished the job. They capped the number of master printers, limited how many presses a man could own, and confined printing to London plus Oxford and Cambridge. Notice what that is. It was never a ban. It was a licensing threshold that only the established houses could clear. Now go read what is being proposed for AI this month. Mandatory external evaluators. Review before release. Capability thresholds. A federal body that decides which systems are permitted to exist. Rules written so that four or five companies can comply and nobody else can, with those same companies helping write them. That is not a new idea. That is the Stationers' Company with better lawyers. And here is the part everyone skips. The Stationers were not victims of censorship. They were its subcontractor. They got rich. The licensing regime they helped enforce was the most profitable thing that ever happened to them and they defended it for 138 years. It did not work. England licensed. The Dutch did not. Amsterdam printed exactly what London banned and shipped it back across the Channel at a markup. The regime suppressed nothing. It exported the industry and billed English readers for the privilege. The harder case is the Ottomans. Arabic script printing was restricted starting around 1485 and the restriction held for roughly two and a half centuries while Europe compounded. One civilization paused a general purpose information technology. Its rivals did not. There is no coming back from that, and no serious argument that anyone was safer for it. That is the China question, answered 500 years ago with receipts attached. Now the honest part, because this case does not require dishonesty. The printing press was genuinely dangerous. Cheap pamphlets fed a century and a half of religious war. Real blood, real graves. The men who said this technology will tear the world apart were not stupid and they were not entirely wrong. Licensing did not prevent one hour of it. That is the real lesson and it is not the comfortable one. Restriction never stopped the upheaval. It only decided who held the printing patents while it happened. John Milton put it better in 1644, writing against the Licensing Order. A licensing regime requires a licensor who can separate truth from error in advance, before the work exists. No such man has ever lived. Every model review board on the table right now rests on exactly that assumption. It was wrong the first time and it is equally wrong today.

One bad barcode and they reject the whole batch. “Mass disenfranchisement.” Catastrophic failure “as a feature rather than a bug.” CNN’s translation: requiring the envelope to match a real voter on a real list is a plot to steal the election. Reality: they had no problem printing and mailing millions of ballots with almost no verification. The second you ask them to confirm WHO is getting the ballot, they run out of paper. Trump signed the order in MARCH. They’ve been in court ever since. Now it’s “too late” and they need Kate Bolduan to platform Blumenthal for the next scare segment. If your election system dies the moment someone asks for a matching name and address, the system was never built to be secure. This isn’t disenfranchisement. It’s accountability... and they hate it.
