Twitter beefs are silly but let me respond because there’s a very important point here. And I hope everyone will read this.
You’re right. This is not about me. It’s about a billionaire group
@MajorityDems convening top Democrats to shape the party’s agenda — and trying to block reporters from covering the transactions and deals cut inside the room.
I’m the editor of an award-winning news outlet and I am defending my reporters, who are being punished for their widely read reporting on the billionaire funding of
@MajorityDems — reporting that has not been factually disputed, and reporting that has been widely cited in other media etc.
What Ilyse represents is a part of the Democratic operative class that is desperate to make clear to billionaires that they will serve them — and defend them — and stoop to Trump-style tactics to do that. That’s how these people make their money. They serve donors. It’s literally their business.
It’s not all Dem operatives but it is some, and they are making clear that they want to control the 2028 primary, and make sure there is no scrutiny of the process.
You can hate me, you can insist like a high schooler that I wasn’t “invited” to your fancy party. But it’s not about me at all. It’s about the attempt to paywall the Democratic presidential primary.
That’s what this is — and
@LeverNews will continue to report on that, whether these career operatives like it or not.
The fact that you are dismissing a gathering of strategists, organizers, grassroots activists and long-shot candidates, now electeds who poured their entire life force into an historic election because you weren’t invited is telling on yourself. Seriously, it’s not all about you.
