prediction markets are live sociological experiments in how we process information and price uncertainty. Watching people arrive at a shared version of reality (or fail to) is a big part of the appeal for me.

Just arrived at Solana Summit in Belgrade. First conversation of the day, I mentioned to @maxh2onodes that I’m still interviewing for Solutions Engineering/FDE roles. Someone at the next table overheard us, came over to say they’re hiring, and I’ve already sent them my CV. The biggest cheat code for getting hired in crypto is genuinely just going to @superteam events and talking to people.

On my way to @solana Summit in Belgrade. I always find it cute when people take pictures of the plane because they’re excited to fly. After hundreds of flights, flying feels pretty normal to me, but I took one today cause I genuinely can’t wait to see all the Solana homies soon!

I moved from Berlin to Cologne about 4 months ago. Being close to family is unbeatable, and Cologne gives me the stability and headspace to focus more on things I believe in. But I miss regularly talking to inspiring people who are building big things and dreaming bigger. How do people cultivate that kind of circle when living outside places like NYC, SF or SG?

The people who are kind after they make it - those are the ones I respect the most.

What's the one question you ask before joining a startup now that you didn't earlier in your career?

Did a few rounds of interviews with a web2 tech company out of curiosity after 6 years in crypto. Nah. I want to work with people who are delusional. Life's too short not to build the future of internet capital markets.

Being around cynical and dour people is just so unpleasant that I have developed some sort of deep ick for it. You have so much you could be doing, so many things you could root for, but you choose to hope for bad outcomes, harm, doomerism, and failure? Ew

Wrapped up my time as Integrations Engineering Lead at Wormhole, took a break to level up my Salsa dancing 🕺and I’m now open to my next role. Over the past 6 years, I’ve worked at crypto startups building backend services for trading systems, integrating exchange APIs, contributing to wallet infrastructure and dApp integrations, and improving developer tooling. At Wormhole, I led partner integrations and developer enablement across EVM, Sui and Solana. I worked hands-on with partner engineers from onboarding to mainnet rollout, contributed in Solidity, Rust, and TypeScript, built and improved SDKs, CLI tooling, docs, tutorials, and integration guides, ran workshops and partner sessions, and helped turn developer feedback into product and DX improvements together with Product and Engineering. I’m especially interested in Solutions Engineering or similar customer-facing engineering roles where I can stay close to the code while helping customers and developers successfully integrate, adopt, and get value from a great product. DMs open, intros appreciated 🙏

Looking for help to fact check my understanding of HIP-4 & reinsurance: HIP-4 turns insurance risk into a tradable binary market. If that works, it could enable a form of permissionless reinsurance. Instead of an insurer “promising to pay,” you buy a position that pays out if the bad event happens. The payout is enforced by the contract itself. In traditional reinsurance, underwriting means assessing risk and deciding whether to take it, at what price, and under what conditions. Pricing is set by humans. With HIP-4, pricing is discovered by the market. Anyone willing to take the other side effectively becomes the reinsurer. Platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket already enable outcome trading, but they have not enabled reinsurance-like risk transfer at scale. The bottleneck is not demand for risk. It is that traders cannot efficiently hedge and warehouse risk at scale. As a result, liquidity often depends on incentives rather than purely organic risk transfer. HIP-4 takes a different approach: A vertically integrated system (spot + perps + outcome contracts) in a single unified margin account that lets traders hedge correlated risks instantly. For that to work, there are some key assumptions that need to hold: • event definitions and oracles that are objective enough for large capital to trust • system solvency under stress • capital efficiency is sufficient for traders to deploy meaningful size Shoutout to @reisnertobias for bringing up the HIP-4 and reinsurance angle at the Hyperliquid Germany meetup.

Ok my understanding now is that they didnt get access to the private keys themselves at any point. Instead they just managed to make them sign malicious transactions ( likely because its hardware wallets ) So the problem for the attacker is that they need to coordinate two signed transactions to execute at the same time, otherwise you'd risk warning the victim. Thats what they solve with durable nonces. They dont know when each victim will be at their computer to sign a transaction, so they used durable nonces to make it irrelevant

Solana Protocols that may have been affected by the @DriftProtocol exploit: - @project0 - @ranger_finance vaults - @xplaceapp savings - @uselulo classic mode - @DeFiCarrot normal mode - @reflectmoney - @TradeNeutral - @elementaldefi - @fusewallet - @piggybank_fi (~2.6% only) - @GetPyra - @perena (JLP vault only) - @vectis_finance What can you do right now? 👇 - There may be more protocols affected, so please check your entire defi portfolio. - I suggest using @jup_portfolio to quickly scan your entire Solana portfolio. - Withdraw where possible (once unpaused) or monitor official accounts closely. - Follow @DriftProtocol for official updates and any compensation/recovery news. - Revoke approvals if you interacted with any of these, and stay safe. This is NOT April fools. Sending love to anyone affected. Please stay safe friends.

Berlin has the best food in Europe.
You do not have to agree with me on which applications are and are not corposlop to use Ethereum. You do not have to agree with me on what trust assumptions are acceptable in which situations to use Ethereum. You do not have to agree with me on political topics to use Ethereum. You do not have to agree with my views on defi, decentralized social or privacy-preserving payments to use Ethereum. You do not have to agree with my views on AI to use Ethereum. You do not have to agree with my view that Berlin has the best food in Europe, suits and ties should be expunged from our culture, and YYYY-MM-DD is the best date format to use Ethereum. And you do not have to agree with me on any one of those above things to agree with me on any other. I do not claim to represent the whole Ethereum ecosystem. Ethereum is a decentralized protocol. The whole concept of "permissionlessness" and "censorship resistance" is that you are free to use Ethereum in whatever way you want, without caring about what I think, or even what anyone else in the Ethereum Foundation or even any Ethereum client developer thinks. But on the flipside, if I say that your application is corposlop, I am not "censoring" you. This has always been the flip side of the grand bargain of free speech: I am not free to shut you down, but I am free to criticize you, much as you are free to criticize me. In fact, it is *necessary* that we do this. The modern world does not call out for pretend neutrality, where a person puts on a suit and claims to be equally open to all perspectives from all of humanity and not have their own opinions. Neutrality is for protocols (like HTTP, like Bitcoin, like Ethereum), and neutrality within some scope is for some institutions. The modern world calls out for the courage to clearly state one's principles - including stating principles by pointing to negative examples, that is by criticizing the things in the world that are incompatible with one's principles - and work with those with aligned goals to build the metaverse within which those principles are taken as a baseline. Such things inherently cannot be constrained to just the layer of the protocol: any principle you have will naturally lead to conclusions, not just about how the protocol should be built, but also what should be built upon it. Furthermore, any such principle will have consequences that go beyond technology, and reach into specific questions within the larger social world. This should not be avoided. Valuing something like "freedom", and then acting as though it has consequences on technology choices, but is completely separate from everything else about our lives, is not pragmatic - it is hollow. The inevitable converse of this is that (i) a decentralized protocol must not be viewed as belonging to only one metaverse, and (ii) the borders of a metaverse are fuzzy: it is possible, and indeed it is the normal case, to align with any one on some axes and not on other axes. Linux is a technology of user empowerment and freedom, Linux is also the base layer of a lot of the world's corposlop. It's almost certainly the base layer of many things that I think are good, and you think are bad, and vice versa. Hence, if you care about Linux because you care about user empowerment and freedom, it is not enough to just build the kernel, we must also build a full-stack ecosystem compatible with those values, and explicitly accept that this is not the only way that people will use Linux, but it is one way that must be built and must be available. Ethereum is similar. Milady.
