👇Das Märchen, Europa leide unter ‚Austerität‘ oder ‚Neoliberalismus‘. Tatsächlich leidet Europa unter zu viel Staat und Überregulierung (also unter ‚Neodirigismus‘).
The biggest, and stupidest, myth in European politics, particularly popular in France, is that Europe suffers the consequences of "austerity" and "neoliberalism". In the biggest 5 countries in Europe, more than half of the population makes its income from the state, less than half from the private sector. This is what makes the problem of reducing the welfare state so impossible: more than half of the voters are net recipients. No surprise that Italy's budget has not been balanced in 100 years, France's in 50 years (ooh la la, l'austérité!!): -France: 30 million from the state versus 21m private sector workers. State spending is 57% of GDP, taxes more than half the economy. The budget hasn't been balanced in the lifetime of most French (since 1974). - Germany: 35 million adults from the state, versus 34 million from the private sector. 10% of the population is registered as severely disabled. Public spending is over half of GDP. Germany has had a continuous budget deficit since 2019. -Italy: 23 million from the state, versus 20.5 million private-sector workers. Public spending is 51% of GDP. Italy has had a budget deficit every year since 1925, for 100 years. - Spain more people get their income from the state since 2024: 18.21 million from the public sector versus 17.9 million people working in the private sector. Since 2025, Spain also had more government employees than self-employed workers (autónomos) for the first time in history. State spending is at 45%, budget has not been balanced since 2007. - UK: 54% of households now receive more in state benefits than they pay in taxes. State spending is 44.5% of GDP, taxes (40%) are at their highest since 1950, the budget hasn't been balanced since 2001, and 1 in 5 new cars is paid by the government through a bizarre state disability scheme (Motability).

The @EUCouncil has still not released the working documents where each Member State’s position on EU Inc would be visible. Against the law. Against EU Court rulings. Enough with this opacity that benefits the red tape lobby. They know they have to hide this. That’s why they hide it. We want European leaders who make Europe win. Not on the wrong side of Europe’s history. The most obvious thing is to make EU Inc as fast and as easy, or faster and easier, than US Delaware. Not to keep notaries feudal privileges and imposing a numerus clausus, a de facto ban on English, exhorbitant fees and sham digitalization in EU Inc. Europeans have spoken. Don’t go against Europeans’ will. Repost
Europe’s founders need a European standard to compete globally from day one. Europe’s leaders committed to delivering one. But their teams are negotiating away the very things that make it one. There is still time to change course if Europe's Heads of State step in now.

At this point the whole EU Inc negotiations are so lost in the details that everyone forgot the main goal: Creating a standard. Basically, allow founders to raise quickly globally and use stock options to hire competitively. Let’s say it quite clearly: 1) If EU Inc isn’t providing a standard it’s useless. We already got 30+ legal entities in Europe. Experienced founders use Delaware Inc already because of this. 2) If EU Inc doesn’t fix stock options Delaware Inc is still the better option. I understand the there are complex details and people are worried about loopholes. But you can’t lose the actual goal of it because of it. An EU Inc that doesn't provide a standard is pointless. Nobody will care about intricacies of compromises reached in political committees if the market can't use the outcome. If you are in contact with your political leaders (prime ministers, presidents, et al) please reach out to them. Or to founders/investors in your network who might have that access. 🔥🇪🇺✌️ x.com/euinc_petition/status/…

If confirmed, this is telling: Russian data centres get hit, and online activity around AfD suddenly plummets. 📉 So much talk about German patriotism… then the connection from Russia goes down. 🤔🇷🇺

What allowing Russia to sell oil products means was heard most clearly in Kyiv just now, when, after repeated attacks on energy facilities with jet-powered “shaheds,” Russia launched a ballistic missile attack as well. Some of the missiles were intercepted. This once again clearly demonstrates Russia’s true intentions. They count on prolonging the war, terrorizing ordinary people, and destroying infrastructure. Every additional billion dollars they can earn from exports will be spent on nothing but sourcing and importing critical components and equipment to manufacture weapons, upgrading “shaheds,” producing missiles, and recruiting even more mercenaries to fight at the front. Russia’s choice is war. And they will be ready to end it only when they feel that their ability to drag the war out is diminishing. Unfortunately, the signals Russia received yesterday were entirely different – signals suggesting that it could simply keep attacking. And this needs to be corrected. Strong signals are needed from the United States, Europe, and other partners – signals in support of Ukraine and to RESTRICT Russia’s ability to wage war and terrorize people. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine!

Fabrizio Romano has now posted the betting rankings twice, first when Kylian Mbappé moved into first place during the World Cup and now the very moment Lamine Yamal overtakes Harry Kane. The pattern could hardly be more blatant. Selective amplification at moments this convenient is not journalism, it is narrative management dressed up as reporting. The shamelessness is extraordinary.

Where did I hear this before that joining the EU is a hostile act.
JUST IN: President Trump warns the EU allowing Canada to join as an associate member could be considered a “hostile act” toward the U.S.
