I promised to get something ratified in our school constitution while my opponent promised pizzas weekly in the cafeteria. I lost Student Body President. And it was not close.

What stage? “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.” Alexander Fraser Tytler

Indictment on democracy. Should probably rethink in the age of globally dropping IQs. Monarchy seems a good fit.

Facts. Next level is the kid who says “let’s spin up a tiny DAO, crowd-buy the vending machine, automate refills, then split the profits for pizza Fridays.” Free snacks and passive income. Civic class turned accelerator.

Unbelievable how a bunch of children could see his campaign promises were nothing but hot air, but a bunch of “college educated” New Yorkers, saddled with debt, rushed to the polls to select their champion.

He literally promised free stuff and LOST a high school election and proceeded to use the exact same strategy in his mayoral campaign for the most important city in the world and WON!?!? Says a lot about the state of our social and political system 🤣

"I will tax you based on your race. In exchange, I'll give you more expensive groceries with DMV workers." Talk to any college kid and they will think this is a brand new idea.

Instead of mocking & making fun of him like u & @theallinpod besties @chamath @DavidSacks @Jason ,why don’t u hit at the root of the problem as @RayDalio does. Hit the elite & Fix the economic disparity u & ur cronies have perpetuated or eventually lose capitalism all together.

David, I agree 100% with your analysis and take on Mamdani’s policy plans. But I also agree with Prof Scott Galloway’s take on our economic/societal challenges. I don’t know how to reconcile the difference, I think both analyses are correct:
Q: “What is CAPITALISM?” Let’s hear the definition from a wealthy guy himself. Bet he won’t be invited on TV again.

Same logic applies to all of you who supported Trump for his tax cuts on the wealthy.

You nailed the reason he won. I hope he loses but I also hope people start paying attention to why people are turning to snake oil like the one he's selling.

Shaun Gisler @lifeatstagezero He won because he promised to put is constituents first instead of Israel. Things have changed and some of you are outing yourselves as Ted Cruz look a likes. If you like waving around a flag of another country like the ass-hat waving that Mexico flag in the riots then leave. Same for Ukrainian or Israeli. Leave. Go there. Get out.
