Just sticking to novels. The first 8 I read from 12 years old to 22, and then Lonesome Dove I read at 40. Hard for books read later in life to compete with ones you read as a youth.
For a long time one of my bumble prompts was “I’ll never emotionally recover from the ending of the His Dark Materials trilogy”

They've made like all but one or two of these into inferior shows and movies.

Someone feed Pinker's article and Alexander's response into claude and ask it to evaluate both arguments, say who won, and then add its view.

Reading everyone's "my nine books" and furiously adding them to lists, buying, saving for later.

Book friends, I don't know what's going on at today but a bunch of random books I had saved for later were over 50% off at Amazon (might be Prime only?).

Millenials call the boomer mom's response "setting firm boundaries" etc.
I asked my (boomer) mom to watch my (good) kids during the day while I'm at a conference. She said yes, but in the same text: -said she wouldn't do it again -made me feel guilty for asking her since she's already so busy -said she doesn't have the stamina (she's 64 and in good health) -doesn't want to "be in a disciplinarian role" and just wants to be Grandma - is leaving early to make it back in time to attend a church function -and says I need a reliable back up plan because she may bail last minute

wtf
"poor people don't read to their kids!" No one is reading to their kids. Percentage of kids (0-8) being read to daily across the USA by income: $100K+ : 17% $60K-$100K: 13% $35K-$60K: 12% $35K- : 14%

9 albums that shaped me as a guitar player.

Albums that actually changed how I relate to music, that blew open a genre for me or expanded my ear. Basically detours away from my alt/indie rock beginnings.

I saw someone's favorite 9 albums list and some of the albums were good and some were not good. Wtf.

Some people pick stories for kids to develop them morally. I pick stories for kids that are enjoyable and engaging, because I'm trying to instill a love of reading. Occasionally there are good morals in there anyway but it's not necessary to focus that in my opinion.
