They are great for kids to get in and out easily, especially when there’s car seats involved. Other than that use case, give me a second row bench every time.

They should have a bench option for the YL eventually. I would still choose the captains chairs, but it would be nice for those that want it.

That's precisely the reason why I won't be getting a Y L. I love my Y currently (my 2nd) but I use the bench. Now give me the space of the Y L w/ a 5-seater and I'm sold lol

I'm sure there will be products, if there aren't already, to solve this issue. Put the middle row up and have a rigid-bottomed dog seat cover on it. The hard bottom bridges the gap. Problem solved.
