🚨BREAKING: A Portsmouth father of two has been jailed for two years after throwing a plastic bottle towards a police line and swearing at police at illegal migrant protest in Portsmouth. • Del Somerville, 42, is the first person jailed over the 6 September demonstration. He admitted violent disorder at Portsmouth Crown Court. About 120 migrants had been brought ashore by the RNLI after a Channel pickup. • Judge Daniel Sawyer (right pic) called him a “thug” and said the sentence was meant to deter others after later protests. Body-worn video showed him throwing a small bottle at a police line on Ferry Road just before 23:30. • Four other men charged with violent disorder from the same protest are awaiting sentence. • For comparison, Judge Sawyer spared Bradley Tolfrey jail in May after he threw three knives at police officers, threw glass at the officers, threatened to slit their throats, spat at an officer, racially abused an officer, pretended to have a gun, covered himself in petrol and threatened to set himself on fire. • Tolfrey, who had 21 previous convictions for 44 offences, and who committed the offences a month after a 26-week suspended sentence expired, was made subject of a 24-month community order. • Judge Sawyer was recently investigated for harassment of a female barrister using an anonymous social media account after she complained about how rape victims are failed by the UK justice system.

The uncomfortable truth is that marches are ignored, protests are laughed at and patriots are attacked for simply showing their concern and waving their nations flag. The only thing that I still believe would force a fundamental change of direction, immediately - is a NATIONAL STRIKE. Not violence. Not rioting. Ordinary people simply staying at home and refusing to participate for a couple of days. Think about what would happen if millions of people did it. Last year, I pushed for a National Strike. I advertised it for months and during that period, my social-media analytics showed that I reached over 200 million people. 180 million of those views were in the UK People saw it. People saw me. I often get recognised when I’m out in public so I know that whilst millions watched, only a handful took part. And sadly, that’s the problem. Everyone assumes that no one else would do it, so they don’t do it. But look around the world. Bulgaria. France. Bangladesh. Romania. Spain… In recent years, they have all done exactly what I am suggesting. They all took part in peaceful, mass non-compliance and they all caused their governments to change course, or even step down and call an election. That’s the level of collective pressure I’m talking about. The British people aren’t powerless. We’ve just become too accepting of the abuse. We did it in the 70’s. Britain was brought to a standstill when just 1.2 million public-sector workers joined a single DAY of action, where widespread strikes disrupted transport, rubbish collection and public services. It ended up with Labour being removed and the Conservatives being put in. It DOES work, history proves it. The question is whether enough people would ever be prepared to act together if I tried to advertise it again. One day. Just like in the 1970’s. If we’re feeling brave, maybe even two. THAT would send a real message.

FOLATE AND FOLIC ACID ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Folate occurs naturally in foods such as leafy greens, broccoli and beans. Folic acid is the synthetic form and from December it will be mandatorily added to most non-wholemeal wheat flour. It is turning up in hundreds of packaged foods already. What is going on? This is my issue: CHOICE. People who need or want folic acid can take it. But why should a synthetic form be routinely added to a staple food eaten by millions?
