Up til the 1980s, my Sicilian family was harassed because of Mussolini. We were called every slur in the book.
You know what happened? Along with Italian workers unions, newspapers, and Italian churches and fraternal organizations, we CONDEMNED Hitler and Mussolini and the rise of fascism in Europe.
More importantly, many who had supported Mussolini's rise to power completely turned on him once they saw what he was up to.
Almost a million Italian-Americans signed up to fight in WWII, including my grandfather and his brother.
Show me the Jewish organizations condemning Israel and Zionism. Show me the synagogues speaking out against Zionist genocide. Show me the Jews signing up to fight against Israel's fascism.
THEN you can bitch about Zionism being associated with Judaism.

Zionist Jews took control of WWII refugee camps, forcing those who'd just survived a holocaust to participate in another one.
It is not well-known, but the Zionist movement co-opted the leadership of the Displaced Person (DP) camps in Germany, Austria & Italy after WWII.
They imposed a draft among Jewish males 18-35 in the DP camps in November 1947, a draft for a country that didn't exist yet, a draft imposed on holocaust survivors against their will.
@mollycrabapple writes about this episode in her book, Here Where We Live Is Our Country.
“In the end, she writes, "Zionists imposed the draft by force. It was shocking, said the Bundist newspaper Unzer Shtime, “that Jews, the standard victims of Fascism and terrorism, would be capable of the kinds of violence Zionists in the camps exercise toward their Bundist and other non-Zionist political rivals.”
She continues:
"Bundists and other non-Zionist Jews told stories of night raids and mob beatings. Bundists in the Bad Reichenhall camp claimed Zionists publicly whipped a draft dodger, then took photos to frighten others into compliance.
In a camp near Ulm, Germany, Zionists beat the elderly fathers of sons who avoided the draft. Conscription continued until April 1949, at which point recruits from DP camps made up a third of the new Israeli army.”

If I'm not mistaken The Economist very enthusiastically endorsed and supported each and every one of the wars it has now belatedly denounced as "martial folly".
Hundreds of thousands of extinguished lives would like a proper accounting of The Economist's own martial folly.
The Iran war looks like a quagmire in the short term, but our cover story this week @TheEconomist asks whether it will ultimately be the start of a real American retrenchment from the Middle East.
The past 35 years have seen America embark on one martial folly after another in the region. Some succeeded at regime change but left chaos in their wake. Others failed outright. None produced an outcome beneficial to American interests.
It is not leaving altogether, of course. But its allies have lost faith, its voters are exhausted and its strategists need to deal with crises elsewhere. Will it step back from its role as the Middle East's hegemon? And who will fill the vacuum?
