Two dangerous words in corporate life: “just” and “quick.” “Just a quick call” is rarely quick. “Just a small favor” is rarely small. My suggestion: say what you need and how much time it may take. Respect for people starts with respect for their time.

Happy Independence Day of Ukraine! 🇺🇦 Today, I’m thinking of everyone who stands with Ukraine, wherever you are. Our independence matters far beyond our borders. Thank you for understanding this, for staying with us, and for helping us protect it. This day belongs to all of us.

In 2010, I went to Pochaina to buy Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. In 2024, my own Management in Times of War @management_war was sold there. Now a Russian missile has destroyed the market.

Visit Ukraine. Even during the war, Ukraine remains a country worth discovering. When you come to Kyiv, visit the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra National Preserve. More than a thousand years of history, culture and spirituality in the heart of the capital. A true place of strength.

Russia’s attack destroyed the logistics center of Ranok Publishing. Around 8 million books burned, causing an estimated $24 million in damage. Industry estimates suggest that more than 10% of Ukraine’s annual book production has been destroyed in just the past few weeks.

My network has long outgrown my memory. I’ve been testing @dexprm for the past few months, and it has already helped me reconnect with people I hadn’t spoken to in years. Dex v5 is a big step forward. Thanks to founder & CEO @kevnsn for the early access.

Maybe people don’t believe me, that’s fine, but visiting Ukraine has been deeply touching for me. It has opened my eyes to things I was blinded to before and has really impacted the way I view human suffering and how I perceive humanity and threats to US national security. My time in Ukraine has been life changing. I’m never going to forget this and I’m interested in seeing what else it inspires me to do and report on in the future. You’ll have to travel to Ukraine yourself and see it yourself to understand what I am talking about. Never thought I’d say this. But, I see why Lindsey Graham loved Ukraine so much. I see it now.

Read it first. Now passing it to my son. In What to Make of a Life, Jim Collins tackles questions that matter at any age. One idea stayed with me: no matter how strong your early decades were, it’s a mistake to think the peak is behind. What comes next can be even more meaningful
