Xanthophobia
(fear of the color yellow)
Yellow walked in and my boots locked up.
Saw a school bus one time on Highway 53 and I hit the ditch like it was incoming fire. Bananas? That's nature packing a yellow grenade. Mustard on a hot dog at the fair almost took me out. Sunflower field? That's an ambush.
Don't even talk to me about the sun. Big ol' yellow eyeball just hanging up there all day, watching.
If it ain't dirt brown, barn red, or flag blue... I don't trust it. Keep that color over yonder. I'll be behind the tractor.
PHOBIA FILES - EP. 1: XANTHOPHOBIA
Xanthophobia is the fear of the color yellow. Yep, the color.
For most folks it's sunshine and smiley faces, but for people with xanthophobia it can trigger real anxiety - think avoiding school buses, bananas, mustard, and apparently... yellow walls like this guy.
This is a real phobia and my dramatization is 100% not how you're supposed to treat it, but visually? He gets it.
I'm launching a new daily series breaking down the weirdest, wildest, and most surprisingly common phobias - one a day.
Tune in every day at 1PM EST for a new phobia.
What phobia should I do next? Drop it in the comments
