September is Firefighter Appreciation Month, a time to recognize the courageous men and women protecting our communities.
I connected with the @opffa to talk about the issues that matter most to firefighters, including training, safety and stronger protections on the job.
Through the Skills Development Fund we've supported the training of over 900 firefighters and in the Working for Workers 6 Act we expanded cancer coverage for kidney and colorectal cancer for all firefighters and fire investigators.
To the OPFFA and all firefighters across Ontario, thank you for everything you do.

At the National Convenience Industry Summit, I spoke about our plan to protect local workers and businesses by cutting red tape and taxes, including through our $1.1 billion small business tax cut, which is saving more than 375,000 businesses $5000 every year.

Our tour and conversation focused on how Nu Look can contribute to our Government's goal of building a stronger Made in Ontario supply chain.
Seeing the work being done by manufacturers right here in Durham Region is a great reminder of the homegrown expertise and local talent we have.

This morning, I was pleased to join my colleague @KingaSurmaMPP to release Ontario’s 2025–26 Public Accounts and our 9th consecutive clean audit opinion.
Our government continues to invest in healthcare, education and infrastructure while also protecting taxpayer dollars through responsible fiscal management. This has enabled us to invest $30 billion in tariff relief and respond to changing needs during a period of sustained economic uncertainty and U.S. tariffs.

Today, I met with the teams at @FTNDurham and @FeedOntario for a tour and conversation about the important work they are doing to support people and families across Whitby and Durham Region.
We discussed proposed changes to the Ontario Works earnings exemption and how these changes could help improve quality of life for the people they serve, while supporting greater financial stability and independence.

Another productive discussion with @EDA_ONT’s leadership and @Rae_Matt on our plan to cut regulatory red tape continue making generational investments in new generation, transmission and storage, as we prepare our grid for rising electricity demand.
Given the broader imperative to protect Ontario's economy, we also discussed our intention to enhance procurement policies to buy and build more Ontario-made.
