What a wonderful world it would be if I could actually TRUST @BBCNews to respond with decency & integrity to maybe just one of my #Windrush posts Sadly, their Stately complicit silence simply encourages idiot bigots to spew random toxicity Perhaps the beeb could ‘verify’ that?

Maybe it’s just that Australians cherish & value their heritage a little more than us Brits 🤔… an ⚓️ memorial which commemorates a ‘migrant’ ship! Anyone here remember HMT Empire Windrush 🤷🏼‍♂️

Save this #BritishHistory now! My late wife interviewed Michael McMillan about his excellent ‘West Indian Front Room’ show at Geffrye Museum in 2008… Documenting our past is far more important & informative than reading the bigoted, toxic comments below 🙄

If people don’t know the facts about the demise of HMT Empire Windrush in March 1954 with the loss of 4 crew #RIP they really should start asking questions 🫣 IMO there is far more circumstantial evidence to the story than you think #Windrush #BritishHistory #Gatekeeping 🤔

Amazing… but makes me wonder about the hidden, submerged narrative of other vessels that have played an important part in #BritishHistory … and that have been ignored for one reason or another. Like HMT Empire Windrush 🤷🏼‍♂️

Searching the Eastern Mediterranean has yielded the world’s oldest shipwreck 👏 So how about looking in the Western Med for an important British shipwreck that has been ignored for 72 years! #windrush #justathought 🤷🏼‍♂️

Why are the National Windrush Organisation & the National Windrush Museum using bastardised pix on their promotional material? Surely ‘honouring the legacy’ should mean using the REAL photo from 1948 & one of the truly iconic images of the 20th century AI erasing history 🤷🏼‍♂️

My gratitude for the events of 1948 and further enrichment of a hugely diverse UK culture, was the inspiration for #WindrushAnchor ⚓️
Sept 1956 the guy in the dark t-shirt arrived on UK shores from his home in Dennery, St Lucia Had he not done so I’d never have met his daughter & enjoyed 23 years of absolute bliss with the most beautiful spirit that God ever put on earth #WindrushLegacies #WindrushAnchor ⚓️

If only people were to open a dictionary… or care to Google ‘anchor’, they might very well see the blatantly obvious connection between an ⚓️ AND #hope which has existed for over 2000 years 🙄 Britain is an island nation, so out of touch with its own historical characteristics

#WindrushAnchor is ignored/misinformed by the media, misjudged by government & sadly misunderstood by many individuals/groups from the very community to whom it was intended as a gift No longer part of the project, I can speak candidly but my disappointment is truly palpable 😔

Magnificent TV series presented by @DavidOlusoga since 2018 👏 Poignantly reflecting the very personal impact upon many lives while navigating social & historical events Perhaps the astonishing, chequered narrative of this iconic ship may one day find its way onto our screens

The National Windrush Monument was unveiled in 2022, funded by £1M from Theresa May’s government I’m sure the community simply presumed that after wangling a degree of redemption, justice for those affected by her Home Office Scandal would follow What were you all thinking 🙄

Nice #WorldAnchorDay post on Facebook from the Nautical Archeological Society I trust that UK museums and others across the globe will be celebrating this essential item of #maritime safety ⚓️🤗
Sat 25 Aug @RMGreenwich host their 5th celebratory ‘Caribbean Takeover Day’ which this year also falls on #WorldAnchorDay ⚓️ RMG is home to the National Windrush Museum & National Maritime Museum… perhaps opportunity to marry both through the iconic imagery of @AnchorWindrush

I encourage EVERYONE to simply open a dictionary or thesaurus and read the entries about an ANCHOR. There you will find a sound educational reference clearly explained. If then, you still cannot make a #WindrushAnchor connection like @RishiSunak did in 2023, I can’t help you ⚓️

Love footy, played from the age of 7 & saw Gordon Banks between the sticks two months before 1966 win. I even met Geoff Hurst in 1967 But I feel it’s best to nurture quiet humility & respect… that worked well 60yrs ago National Pride is still something that comes before a fall

I talk a lot about the quality of ‘anchors’ and what they symbolise ⚓️ Tonight we saw a classic example of the anchor-role in team sports… as Spain’s Rodri showed the importance of grounding his side in their #WorldCup semifinal against France 🙌

13 July 1607: Birth of Václav (Wenceslaus) Hollar in Prague, exquisite & prodigious bohemian etcher… who in 1637 captured the Greenwich vista, being paid the princely sum of £1.50 (today’s value) for his efforts ONLY The Queen’s House has survived this view in the last 391 yrs!

A huge slice of England’s luck is that they’ve not actually had to play any side in the top 10 FIFA rankings on a 15 match run to the SF. This is apparent every time the ball gets anywhere near our penalty area 🫣 We had 2 years to sort out a settled defence & failed miserably.

England are in a #WorldCup SF having played 15 matches against international sides who are all outside the FIFA top ten rankings It’s an entirely new competition on Wednesday… but anything is possible if the game is played well away from our penalty box 🤞 #context

Although I’ll get just a few views for the post below, I will never stop talking about the #MPfilter which fundamentally denies the right of public freedom to challenge institutions The complicity of mainstream media & political #gatekeepers is jaw dropping but unsurprising 🙄
10 years on from the 2016 Draft Public Health Service Ombudsman Bill & this foreword by Chris Skidmore… we’re no nearer the simple legislative freedom that people were promised 🙄 Why 🤷🏼‍♂️ @BBCNews @itvnews @Channel4News @SkyNews

The #MPfilter is an outdated parliamentary mechanism which stymies genuine public challenge to countless injustices I suggest that unless Mainstream Media investigates it’s damaging impact, complacency & ignorance will result in many future painful consequences & scandals 🤔
For over TEN YEARS I have been denied @PHSOmbudsman access to simply challenge a ban imposed upon me by a National Museum… abetted by @DCMS @mtpennycook @10DowningStreet & @RoyalFamily All because the #MPfilter legitimises institutional gatekeeping 👇
