This project was only possible because of the expertise of many amazing scientists. A big thank you @shsternberg, @IsraelF96135088, @minjookies, Leslie, @JingWang0610, @Vopinator, @tehhoyen, @jerrintgeorge, @jason_mohabir, @AcreeChris! I could not wish for a better team! 10/10

The pore’s dimensions seemed ideal to accommodate dsDNA. @minjookies mastered the purification DNA-bound TnsC, for which @IsraelF96135088 refined not one but two DNA-bound structures. The overall heptameric structures of DNA-free and DNA-bound TnsC are very similar. But… 7/10

Given its important role in target site selection, @minjookies purified the challenging TnsC and the amazing @IsraelF96135088 (make sure to check out his thread) built the beautiful cryoEM structures of heptameric TnsC ring complexes. TnsC oligomerization is ATP-dependent. 6/10

Excited that our paper is now online @Nature! Selective TnsC recruitment enhances the fidelity of RNA-guided transposition - the result of a fantastic collaboration of the @shsternberg and @IsraelF96135088 labs. (nature.com/articles/s41586-0…) A thread: 1/10

Our March issue is live! The cover story is @Zhu_Lab's in vivo #CRISPR screen that ID's chromatin regulators as druggable targets for liver regeneration. The image depicts characters who represent ribosomes repairing a damaged liver with the help of BAZ2i. cell.com/cell-stem-cell/curr…

I made this figure out of my fascination with protein architectures. I call it "Molecular Machinery of Life." Thought to share it with you to enjoy your eyes. Can you detect, by heart, the Nobel Prize-Winning structures? @AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

But there is hope! My first grant after cloning PIEZOs was triaged. But @NIH did ultimately fund the work that showed PIEZO2 is the principal mechanosensor for touch and proprioception. Message: stay positive, don't doubt yourself, and keep trying. 3/3
