Going to actual failure with 400+ pounds on your back multiple times a workout sucks and is somewhat dangerous. Saving it for accessories makes more sense
But more generally you don’t need that much intensity for adequate stimulus and it has a high fatigue cost.

Every now and then, when I was younger, I’d envy my gay friends. Even though in theory their dating pool was a tiny fraction of mine, their relationships were in many ways much simpler.

I never understood this idea. Maybe for higher rep ranges, but at lower rep ranges it’s pretty obvious when the bar starts slowing down and when you aren’t getting the next rep

It’s interesting how muscle and strength is pretty easy to build well past 40. Not as easy as your 20s of course but you’d think it would be harder.
But cardio is hell to build as you get older, relatively speaking. The human body just hates maintaining cardio for some reason

One reason I’m not really worried about the AI apocalypse is that even if a malicious AI arises I know my bots will have my back 100%
It would probably be attacked by a ton of various AIs who want to keep humans around. Just very risky and high cost, why bother?

It’s true that for your typical gym goer strength and size are pretty closely correlated.
And this guy has some muscle. But he’s hyper specialized for strength and technique.
Same as watching lightweight female lifters. Seems absurd what they can do with tiny frames.
