What YOU have does not affect what I have. If you getting more makes me mad, that's just envy.
I hope EVERYONE has more than I have!
I am starting to think that people really liked income compression, as a good independent of absolute consumption, and that this is why people are confused about the evolution of the middle class. It's not that they have less, it's that they see other people getting way more.

This statement is remarkably ignorant of basic facts about income distribution and wealth.
I'm tempted to believe the author is trolling, because no one is that dumb.
But I think I'm wrong. Quite a few people are that dumb.
The "Middle Class" was a 50-year fluke designed to prevent a communist revolution during the Cold War. Now that the threat is gone, the elites are systematically dismantling it. You aren't "falling behind"; youβre being pushed back into the peasantry.

They didn't make the rules, they are trying to win the game.
The rules almost require corruption and double-dealing. Doesn't have to be that way, though.
Elite schools have relatively more wealthy students who know (or whose parents know) how to game the system. Itβs a charade, and everyone knows it.

It's not clear to me that FIFA didn't just "review" the red card on its own. Out of craven economics.
And, I think I lot of USers would have whined if we had lost without Balogun.
"Losing with grace" is not really the American way, Sam.
It's sad many Americans debased themselves by defending their country's cheating in the football for the sake of a 4-1 defeat.
They would have been able to lose with grace if they'd followed the rules, but now they have to carry the indignity of both cheating and losing.

There are many obnoxious divas. The "bigger issue" is really the problem, yes.
Okay. But maybe the bigger problem with Candace Owens isnβt primarily that sheβs an obnoxious diva β hardly uncommon among people who care about being βcelebrities.β Perhaps the bigger issue is sheβs a lunatic bigot, cruel and vicious conspiracy peddler, and a profoundly ignorant hustler. Among progressives, thereβs a strong predilection for the noble lie---moreso, Iβm convinced, than exists with conservatives.
I donβt think it was his intention, but Jake Tapper helped to expose this fact when he interviewed Jenny Racicot, who is accusing Graham Platner of rape.
Tapper: There are gonna be Democrats who say βI believe you but I donβt care. Iβm gonna vote for him anyway. Because we need a progressive voice in the United States Senate.β Are you okay with that? Are you going to be able to handle that? Iβm not saying thatβs the right answer or the right response, but.
Racicot: No, uhmm, I have friends who feel that way. And thatβs been a hard pill to swallow. β¦ I understand. I understand that the state of our political environment is so much so that we need a lot of change. And heβs offering that change.
