The illicit crop was cut & burnt on-site, with geo-tagged photographs. 🤝 Quarterly State-Level JCC Meeting for Uttarakhand was convened in Dehradun to further enhance inter-agency coordination to combat drug trafficking. 🔷 The meeting, chaired by DDG, NCB (Northern Region), witnessed participation from representatives of NIA, DRI, ED, Income Tax, SSB, IB, Uttarakhand ANTF & FDA. 🔷 Discussions focused on drug-trafficking hotspots, Nepal-linked trafficking routes, border interdictions, emerging modus operandi, pharmaceutical & precursor diversion, clandestine laboratories, financial investigations, PIT-NDPS & efforts being undertaken for effective implementation of Vision Document on Narcotics Control (2026-29). 🔷 The meeting also reviewed the establishment of NDPS courts, capacity building in darknet & cryptocurrency investigations & mechanisms for improved intelligence sharing among agencies. 🚨NCB participated in the launch of Odisha ANTF’s Mission Zero Cannabis Cultivation in Kandhamal & Boudh, the two districts accounting for the majority of illicit Cannabis cultivation in the state. 🔷 In line with Vision Document on Narcotics Control (2026–29), the mission targets the elimination of illicit Cannabis cultivation in both districts by March 2027. 🚨 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗶 🚨 🔷 NCB seized 53.937 kg Methamphetamine, valued at approx. Rs 43 crore in illicit market, during an intelligence-led operation in Guwahati. 🔷 Two drug traffickers arrested, foiling a major drug trafficking attempt from Myanmar into North-East. 🔷 Acting on credible intelligence inputs, NCB officers intercepted two trucks & detected specially fabricated concealed cavities inside the fuel tanks of both vehicles, ingeniously designed to smuggle narcotics while evading detection by enforcement agencies. The operation resulted in the recovery of the contraband & on-the-spot arrest of two drug traffickers, both residents of Bishnupur, Manipur. 🔷 Under the special “Absconder Drive Fortnight,” NCB Guwahati apprehended six accused wanted in various NDPS cases. Of those apprehended, two hail from Assam & one each from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur & Tripura.
