CITI made that statement back in 2021. They followed it up in June calling Chainlink the interoperability standard for the tokenized Global Financial System. Along with @StanChart calling $LINK "the only end-to-end platform capable of supporting the full lifecycle of tokenised assets across both DeFI and TradFI" in August.
One statement is noise. Multiple is signal.
JUST IN: @Citi's new Tokenization 2030 report highlights Chainlink CCIP as the interoperability standard connecting the tokenized global financial system.
Citi projects tokenized asset markets can reach $8.2 trillion by 2030, with secure cross-chain connectivity being critical.

I personally give @Citi an incredible amount of credit for foreseeing this. It was a strong take in a tough climate, and they were right.
Many other institutions like @Bitwise and @Grayscale are now more public about it.
Yesterday was incredible to see @joechalom, @BlackRock and @Vanguard_Group discuss this very near future.
I think the future looks bright. Congrats to all the based institutions building it. @swiftcommunity

Banks dont move on their own. If they do - they Russia themselves and fragment and die. Universal interoperability - invisible infrastructure - synchronized trust - removing inefficient capital requirements - unlocking illiquid assets - these are the things missing from the Global Financial System.
Chainlink fixes the Global Financial System.
'Its really about the future. The programmability of blockchain is what makes it special. Within the four walls of large banks - you dont need a token. But when you want to connect disparate parties that have untrusted. thats when its really key' - Ryan Rugg @Citi
