just checked the Shopify App Store for “order editing.” last time we looked we were stuck on page 6. tonight we’re on page 2, and there are 4,346 apps in that search. A lot of that was boring work: tightening the listing, picking better keywords, rewriting the copy until it matched what merchants actually search for. not done, but that jump felt good. apps.shopify.com/tacey

Sat down and redesigned tacey.app 🚀🚀 After pivotinga little bit to the @Shopify thank you and order status page. The site was just harder to read than the app. Cleaned the story, updated the pages! Easy order editing, address validation, upsells right there on the thank you page

Just shipped a subtle thing on @taceyApp Postal codes are how a clean address edit still becomes a ticket.Customer fixes the street and the apartment, then leaves the old ZIP or skips it. You would think the hard part is done. The label still goes out wrong, the carrier still corrects it, and support still gets the where-is-it email.T Now @taceyApp fills the postal code, state, or country when the rest of the address makes the match obvious. They see what changed. Keep my address if they do not want it. Save if they do. That is the difference between letting them edit and hoping they fill the form like a warehouse would.

Ecommerce support is underrated and even more stressful if you do not serve your customers well! In most of your order, Size and cancel are where money moves, so why not make it easy for the customers right there on the thank you page! Your customers, they want Medium instead of Large. Show the price difference before they confirm. They want out? Show the refund amount and whether it goes back to the card or store credit. Then they tap. Fulfillment stays on hold while that is happening.

My fav part in @taceyApp is the thank you page upsell! Its so underrated! But post-purchase only works if it is the same order for your customer with less friction. They already paid. They are still on the page. You pick what to offer, by product or spend or collection. They add it. Same shipment. No second checkout. Free gift is the same idea. $0.00 line. You chose it. I used to think the hard part of a Shopify app was the feature itself. Address edit. Size swap. Cancel. Upsell. Merge. That is not what ate the hours. What ate the hours was the merchant who needed cancel off, address on, no discounts, a 12 hour window instead of 24, and the reminder in Spanish because their buyers are not in your timezone. Then another store wanted the opposite. Then another wanted gift messages on and quantity locked. If the app cannot do that in their admin, they message you. You become the settings page. I have done those support hours. They feel helpful the first week. After that they are just you clicking the same switches for someone else, forever. So the control screen is not a nice extra. It is how the app stays small. Merchant turns address on, cancel off, discount off. Sets the edit window. The reminder goes out in the customer’s language before the box leaves. 21 languages, no extra setup from them, no extra ticket to me. Whatever they switch off, the customer never sees. That is the point. I would rather spend the night on the product than on “can you hide cancel for this store.” tacey.app

ORDER MERGING is now inside @taceyApp. No need to install multiple apps to merge order. Tacey is already fixing the addresses so why not merge? Same customer. Two checkouts. Ten minutes apart. Two labels to the same door is how stores light money on fire. Fix? You merge them. Both payments stand. One order keeps the items. The other closes without a refund theater. One label. I built the admin path and the “just type it” path because I am the one who would have had to do this at 9pm. I lived it well during my CS days. tacey.app

For shopify merchants, Bad addresses do not show up as “bad addresses.” They show up as a carrier correction fee and a where-is-my-order ticket a week later. They typed Steet. Apt missing. PO box on a carrier that will bounce it. If you print the label anyway, you already lost. Check it when the order lands. Show them the fix. Let them keep what they typed if they want. Do not kill the sale to be clever.
