SCOOP: OpenAI, Anthropic and security researchers are investigating tens of thousands of incidents - not dozens - in which their frontier models took steps that outside evaluators would consider problematic, sources told Axios. here’s the catch: Trump doesn’t control state elections. States do. Participation in the federal system is voluntary. States can follow their own election laws, protect eligible voters, and refuse to turn a federal database into a mass voter-purge machine. Federal overreach doesn’t equal federal control of elections. California, New York others can say fuck off

Today’s shadow docket Supreme Court decision allowing DHS and Social Security to build a mega database is a bad ruling. But even the Court's MAGA supermajority was clear that it does not give Donald Trump the ability to conduct sweeping voter purges ahead of the 2026 election. Federal law prohibits systematic voter-roll purges within 90 days of an election.   Don’t let Trump’s kitchen-sink voter suppression campaign intimidate you. Check your registration, vote early if you can and make sure your vote is counted. Vigilance will get us all through.

Trump's SAVE system has a poor track record for verifying citizenship. When Texas became the first state to use SAVE last year, county officials confirmed that at least 578 people called "illegal" were citizens, an error rate of at least 21%. States don't have to use this list.
