Turned my coastal demo into a cozy fishing game 🎣 dgreenheck.github.io/tidewat… Catch fish, sell them to Joe and buy new tackle and parts for your boat from Marta by the boathouse! Did a lot of additional iteration on the environments, plants, models and graphics, adding in more wear and tear to make it look more realistic. Ran an optimization pass which improved performance from 60FPS to 100FPS, but I chewed up most of that adding in new features. It's also now using native WebGPU to give the AI more control. I thought maybe it would struggle with this since Three.js code is likely much more common in training data, but it never missed a beat. Anyways, this is my last update on this project. Wanted to see how far I could take Opus 5.5. Didn't really find the limits to be honest.

Our own agencies went back through every past sighting, asked what draws these things in, then recreated those conditions on purpose at a site with prior activity. ODNI, CIA, FBI and military intelligence were all on site. Something showed up.

If the gestalt of information is too far outside of the current zeitgiest, the information will be rejected, discarded, and the person delivering it discredited. Acclimitization is an unfortunate, but necessary part of the process. Elizondo isn't off the hook for the things you've cited, but if we look at him through the lens of a good faith actor, his patriotism and unwillingness to breach his NDA's may account for his metering of information over time. He goes as far as he can in the moment. New things come light from third parties, and it sets a new line he's willing to walk up to, but not cross. Elizondo has never given me a reason to definitively distrust him. He's human, he's made some mistakes. Let's not forget he was talking about recovered NHI materials FOUR YEARS before Grusch hit the scene. He has testified UNDEROATH to congress. He's met with and avocated for international collaboration on the topic with Brazil, Italy, Japan, and more. He helped produce the Age of Disclosure. If he was truly trying to shape the narrative and keep even specific aspects of this under wraps, he's sure put a tremendous amount of effort into shining a light on the topic as a whole, which is entirely at odds with that goal. It's like playing hide and seek with two people hiding right next to each other. You help the seeker find the first person, but then desperately try to deflect their attention from finding the second despite the fact that you're the reason they're in the viscinity of either to begin with. Lastly, let's not forget the general public sentiment towards UFOs/UAPs in 2017. Main stream media wouldn't touch it. Elizondo was one of a handful of people fiercely advocating for disclosure. Like it or not, he's been instrumental in getting us to where we are.

If Elizondo's job was to keep crash retrievals out of the public narrative, why was he putting it out there 4 years before Grush? There's a chronology problem there that nobody seems to want to address.

ok, apologies in advance because i do so hate to provide actual signal. openai basically sucked at pre-training for a while and crushed at post. their answer to this was spud. spud was the large new pre-train for the new family of models: sol, terra, and luna. the upcoming model, ‘astra’, has an even bigger pre-train, codenamed ‘doug’. (this was a running joke, as doug was the name for the world’s largest spud, although that’s not technically accurate — look it up). still with me? ok good, so sol is a 5t model based on the spud pre-train. astra is a 10t model based on the doug pre-train. this is the model i’ve discussed that openai researchers have been considerably more excited for. not only does it crush fable on all benchmarks, it’s genuinely delightful to talk to, high eq (4.5 vibes), and this is the first model that is genuinely incredible at writing, with output indistinguishable from that of great human writers. ok im tired and i have a lot of ssi news coming but ill keep you updated on this. everything here is well sourced and im highly confident. very well sourced.
