For the past 6 months, I’ve been using my free time to build Yellowcake Analytics, a free resource about the uranium industry. Everyday it ingests new filings and announcements from dozens of miners. If you’re getting up to speed on the uranium trade, it’s a great place to start

I spent years building something for an audience that no longer exists. Recently, a few people have asked why I stopped posting @DynamoDeFi videos. My plan in 2022-24 was to build out an audience of avid DeFi users. Then I would build or acquire DeFi-related micro-products that I could push through my channels. The first part (building an audience) went well. From 2022 to 2024, my YouTube grew from 5K to 60K and my Substack grew from 0 to 22K subscribers. Problems appeared in 2025 as it became obvious that the DeFi power users who had always formed the core of my audience were mostly moving on to other things. Crypto consumers bifurcated into institution-adjacent products (ex. DATs) and memecoins, neither of which interested me. So, instead of being in a position to use my distribution to partner with others, I was fighting just to keep an audience at all. Eventually, I couldn't justify the time and cost anymore and decided to focus on my full-time job at @DefiLlama. My biggest lesson from this was to monetize early in new businesses, rather than focusing solely on distribution. I leaned too hard into distribution and, by the time I was ready to crank up monetization, the moment had passed. Onto the next thing.

Philly is the greatest beneficiary of hybrid work combined with high speed rail and self-driving cars. Lackluster job market, but close enough to NYC for people to super commute. Working on a project related to Philadelphia real estate and business now.

Ethena USDe supply is up 20% over the last month, and USDC mcap grew +$2.2B over the last 48 hours Are we finally starting to see real onchain stablecoin growth after nearly a year of ranging? Built a stablecoin monitor to more closely watch activity. Default is 60d but change time frames & select chains to see different views

Gm gm, wanted to give a personal update before the Asia Conference Circuit starts. I am winding down my time at @CapApp and will be departing from my position as Head of Growth at the end of the month and go all-in @UFGDeFi. This was not an easy decision to make but it is the right one. It's been an honor & pleasure working alongside @Benjamin918_ and the entire Cap team. Benjamin has stated that he wanted to get together a team of A+ players and he really did here. I've learned a lot over the past 21 months; It's hard not to when Cap is truly pursuing innovation in a sea of sameness. I'm proud of my work in bringing awareness and light to these efforts, especially in today's attention landscape. As Cap continues to advance a new form of credit to the productive economy, I'll be rooting for them from the sidelines and I know they will do me proud. Yes it has been fun being "TradFi Dave" for a bit, but in reality DeFi Dave never left. Whether that is what @Cibolan2000 and I have been cooking at UFG or with the interviews @patfscott and I have been doing with @FullyVested_Pod, what both have in common is they are a vision of DeFi I want to see in the world. Time is precious and there are few moments that are given to you where you can actually have an impact. Right now is one of those moments and I would be not true to myself if I didn't pursue it with all my heart and soul. For everyone who has been apart of my crypto journey for the past 9.5 years, your support means more than you'll know to me. And as I enter this next chapter, I leave everyone with a quote from the greatest himself, Muhammad Ali: “If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it - then I can achieve it.” I stand by those words. Now watch with your eyes. See you in Seoul and Singapore.

Most of my time at @DefiLlama has focused on building out our recurring revenue while keeping the core product open source and free. If I were responsible for monetizing another open source project, I'd do the following: 1. Create a white glove service with guaranteed support and implementation. If companies are already using your free product, help them make the most of it for a fee. 2. Use the "open-core model." Build out add-ons that target larger organizations or professionals using the service. For example, at DefiLlama, products that target financial analysts or teams integrating the product into their workflow are paid. 3. Commercial licensing. Put simply, if other companies are using your product to make money, they have capacity to pay. This is more difficult to pay but the easiest to implement.

"I think defi has a very bright future- I'm very personally bullish on $UNI - I think Uniswap is the clearest expression of defi... And... there used to be all these competitors... but now... Uniswap is the only one left- So if $UNI is already printing off just one chain - Robinhood Chain- doing numbers in a pre-bull market- now imagine what happens when $BTC breaks up $82k and you have other chains... all going bonkers... And we're under-pricing future governance too. When somebody would look at Uniswap, the most common feedback I'd get is that its 'good business, sh*t token' - but then you're under-pricing their ability to pivot and drive more value towards tokenholders... And this applies to lots of defi projects... I feel like a lot of these OG defi projects, people are under-pricing their ability to flip the switch, and finally reward the tokenholders with more of the fee share..." - @that1618guy, in discussion with @defidave and @patfscott

The genetic distance between different types of Germans (Bavarians, Prussians, etc) is significantly greater than different British ethnicities. If you grouped English, Scottish, and Scots-irish (usually listed as American on the census), nearly the entire map would be blue.
Most common White ethnicity by U.S. county.

it's under appreciated in Silicon Valley "great man theory" land that a lot of very successful people spend years working on kind of silly things
This is Sam Altman at 25 years old, pitching Loopt to a person in a diner It’s strange to watch now because he runs one of the most influential companies in the world The app was a location-sharing app but nobody thinks about it when they think of Sam It got me wondering how many founders are probably in their Loopt era rn? The company they’re working on may not be the one they become known for It might just be the company that teaches them how to sell, hire, raise money, and keep going long enough to find "it" But at the time, it looks like a kid trying to explain a weird location app to a stranger over lunch

Philly port traffic is up 40% since 2020 too. If the state government would start supporting biotech and reindustrialization, we could have a strong growth story.

You happen to be alive at the most consequential moment in human history, at precisely the age and in precisely the social role to sound the alarms and do something to stop our impending doom. You! Yes, you of all people. Just an ordinary guy who wants the best for the world reluctantly drawn into a fight for the survival of the human race. Just like the unlikely superhero from your favorite childhood movie. What are the odds!?!
