Just had a guy on a bike almost crash into me on Marsham Street (maybe 8 mins walk from Parliament) as he was speeding along the pavement on an electric bike. 20s probably, Asian-looking I tell him to not ride on the pavement as I walk away - angrily, but no shouting or swearing etc He throws the bike down and comes after me and says "do you want me to shank you?" (aka stab). Tucked into his belt he has a longish piece of metal - seemed to be some sort of blade but I can't be 100% sure what it was in truth. Enough to scare me anyway I very hurriedly walk away and he yells "yeh run you posh cunt", and at some point he (I think) stops following I call the police (was in two minds between 101 or 999 ; ended up going for the latter). Operator asked me my name and then how to spell it (hardly seemed the priority) Tell her what happened. She asks if I am still in danger - I say well I've walked away but the guy is still around I think She says it's not an emergency so I need to fill out a form on the police website. She says she'll text me the link I say - there's a guy threatening to stab people and is that not a priority? She says no and to fill out the form. I try to interject but mid-sentence she cuts the call That's it Not sure what to think really but as someone who doesn't have many interactions with the @metpoliceuk I just didn't really expect it to be so..dismissive? Maybe they were having a busy Friday night who knows

This week marked one full year since the last rocket fired from Gaza crossed into Israeli territory. Pretty much the entire point of flattening Gaza. Any nation is entitled to take whatever measures are necessary to protect itself from attack. You can call that genocide (if you're sufficiently retarded) but it has accomplished its military objective for now. If Hamas wants to keep fucking around, they will keep finding out.
Maybe next time don't try to destroy Israel?

Have a word with morons like @nickclegg who thought it pointless to build nuclear power stations as they would only come online in the 2020s.
I want to be honest about how we’ve got to a place where British billpayers are paying some of the highest energy costs in Europe. Over the past 40 years, we’ve given up control of our necessities, outsourced our essentials and privatised the basics. Water, transport, housing. And of course, energy. Now the public are paying the price. We haven’t invested in the infrastructure we need. Conflict overseas has pushed up energy costs and it’s hurting our businesses and families. That’s why we need to take back greater control of our energy system. This week, I announced Great British Grid, which will speed up connections and push down bills. We’re also giving mayors, local leaders and communities a stronger role. With funding for People’s Power projects, communities will be able to build solar panels on libraries and town halls, hydro schemes in rivers or publicly owned windfarms on local land. But it’s not just energy we need stronger public control over. It’s also water, housing, transport and care. So we’re repealing the ban on public ownership of water companies. We’re building more council homes than this country has seen since the end of World War Two. We’re reforming the leasehold system so families aren’t squeezed for every penny. And we’re opening up home ownership for first time buyers who can’t rely on the bank of mum and dad. This week I also announced my determination to introduce a National Care Service, to put people above profit and to give pensioners peace of mind. Together, we’ll rewire the country from top to bottom so that it works for all people in all places. That is the only way to put Britain back on the right path. It’s the only way to put power back in people’s hands. And it’s the only way we will bring hope again.

More grizzly details have been released about how Ann Widdecombe died. She SAW the attack coming. 😢 Here’s the timeline of events: The Left Wing freak reportedly came in through the open front door of Ann’s house. The suspect entered the kitchen where she was eating her lunch at the kitchen table. He stood in front of her and asked ‘do you happen to have any bank cards and ID?’ During this, he kept the hammer by his side. Almost immediately, he began hitting her in the head 21 times. It is not yet known if Ann responded to this question, but clearly she would have been absolutely terrified in these moments before death. The entire ordeal is thought to have lasted around two minutes. RIP Ann. 🕊️ We will never stop fighting against Left Wing terrorists. 🩵

The main reason there have been no budget leaks is because they still don’t really have a clue what to do!!
Senior Labour figures are privately voicing unease about John Healey’s approach to his crucial first budget this month, against the backdrop of volatile global markets and soaring energy costs. The chancellor’s conference speech was warmly received by Labour members - but government insiders cast doubt over lack of investment and growth policy or any pitch-rolling for possible tax rises. Narrow focus of budget expected to rule out radical changes to property and capital gains taxes - though Healey calling in bank bosses next week has reignited speculation of windfall tax. Labour MPs fear that failing to take more drastic action, particularly on surging energy prices, could leave voters nonplussed. One said: “John may want the budget to be low key but it will send a massive signal of our intent.” theguardian.com/politics/202…

You know the EU is already something of a mid-tech backwater when it comes up with something even worse than Microsoft Teams. In a way, it’s quite the achievement.
The European Commission has rolled out an alternative to Microsoft Teams. But officials using it aren't impressed, with one describing the tool as “absolute shit.” vist.ly/5kje9

Warning! It’s mushy season and if you see these in fields, do not eat them. You will trip your box off. Pound for pound these are one of the most potent mushrooms you will find. People grow big massive ones from Thailand and Columbia and all sorts of tropical places. But these little European mushrooms, Liberty Caps are unique. These cant be grown indoors like the others. They need the grass network to thrive. They are only tiny compared to the other ones but they are powerful. I always identify them by their little witch looking hats with a nipple on the top. When it’s dry they are cream coloured. But when it’s been raining they turn a dark brown. You often find them in places nearby sheep or cows. All the shit makes fertile ground and the spores blow to the nearby fields and colonise the soil and out of this they will grow. There is a kind of mould underground hidden in the soil called mycelium and at this time of year the fungus start to grow out from it. When you fine one you will find many more. They all grow out of the same mycelium network. I think of it as an underground tree but instead of the fruits hanging down the fungus grows up from it. The mycelium network acts as a kind of telephone line between trees too. They call it “The Wood Wide Web”. Trees can send signals along it to each other and send nutrients to each other along it snd all sorts. Look into it if you don’t believe me. It’s fascinating. But for legal purposes I must emphasise that I am not encouraging anyone to pick them or eat them and sit around a campfire with your mates having a laugh or anything like that. That is illegal and wrong so dont do it. Dangerous too. Stay away and be aware.
