🇺🇸The US-Iran standoff is not cooling off. It is escalating: The Pentagon is sending a third aircraft carrier group to the Middle East, along with amphibious ships carrying Marines - roughly 9,000 to 10,000 additional troops and sailors. The USS Theodore Roosevelt left San Diego on September 27 with its battle group; the USS Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group followed soon after. The USS George H.W. Bush and USS George Washington are already in the region. If the Washington is still there when the Roosevelt arrives, three carrier groups will be on station at once for the first time since April 2026.
