Outstanding new work on a composable and collaborative malleable computing environment from @inkandswitch piped.video/watch?v=4UxGijnu… * Same data, collaboratively edited in different tools! * Same tools, themselves collaboratively edited! * Same data, bidirectionally editable in different representations via lenses! (!!!) * All in a composable hierarchy which itself can be molded! * Demos of a hierarchical composable behavior system that I don't yet understand! * Some very wild demos of UI composition that I definitely don't understand! * All versioned, branchable, local-first, import/exportable, offline syncable, etc Watching this feels like watching a lot of dreams (Smalltalk, Webstrates…) playing out live. Just beautiful stuff.

All models, no matter how smart, will eventually build systems that they can no longer understand or maintain, if you let them. Fable 5 finally outbuilt itself, and flailed on me for a week. Fable 5.1 looks like it will fix it. For now. But you have to keep an iron grip on system size, or it'll run away from you.

It used to be "use TS, not JS" Now, for backend, it's "use Effect, not just TS" Took a long time for me to drop my scepticism but I 100% agree with Dillon.

tbh. I wish more people didn't lean on the agentic loop 100%; instead, they should lean on @temporalio esq workflow engines as stages. There's an art in deciding whether to utilise the LLM loop vs. a deterministic workflow. You can do both; the magic is in combining and applying both ingredients in the right manner.

One of the many benefits of using `effect` for pretty much all my TS projects: It replaces >50 of the most common packages/use cases (e.g. o11y, cli, http, etc) which means I'm much less exposed to supply chain attacks as effect has (almost) no deps itself.
