Alas, if only you could wish away the lump of labor fallacy & demand-side channel with preening insults & self-promotion.
Inability to tell the difference between cheap labor and innovation is one of the grossest and costliest failures of the Old Right. This @scottlincicome post is doubly foolish because @JDVance articulates the difference better than anyone in politics, and has for years.

You think like an economist: What substitutes for labor?. He thinks like Carl Schmidt: Who is us and who is them?

In Oren’s world we would have a Government Innovation Inspector going around to every tech company to make sure they were innovating at the proper level. With trained dogs to sniff out any Cheap Labor gumming up the works.

And how many of those folks are now suddenly saying “Do you want private businesses to discriminate against women, etc?” They seem to be promoting the same affirmative action and DEI programs they wanted gone. 😂

If only you could consider your fellow citizens as more than units of labor, and promoting the general welfare as more than just economic wealth.

You are a victim of the "supply and demand doesn't exist and price isn't a signal in this one specific case" fallacy

Imagine back in the day, the guys with literal pitchforks howling ‘We’re not gonna let you lay off American workers’ at the advent of the tractor and combine harvester. It would have been such a different, peaceful country…

Man oh Man, was at a small town harvest festival this weekend in OR. OSU had a simulation tent where they were you could do remote timber cutting, plow fields, run a combine, etc. My 7 year old grandson cleared half acre of timber in less than an hour. Living in amazing times.
