The Muslim muezzin who opened Mass inside St Peter's church at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, intentionally chose to recite a Koran passage that condemns his Christian hosts as idolaters (Koran 26:70-77): "When he [Abraham] questioned his father and his people, 'What is that you worship [besides Allah]?' They replied, 'We worship idols, to which we are fully devoted.' Abraham asked, 'Can they hear you when you call upon them? Or can they benefit or harm you?' They replied, 'No! But we found our forefathers doing the same.' Abraham responded, 'Have you [really] considered what you have been worshipping— you and your ancestors? They are [all] enemies to me, except the Lord of all worlds [Koran 26:70-77]." Islam teaches that all Christians are idolaters (mushrikin, people who “associate” another—Jesus—with Allah). That the muezzin chose to recite this particular passage inside a Catholic church—which is full of statues and images which are anathema to Muslims—is no coincidence. Clearly, Muslims are becoming quite emboldened. It used to be that they would recite Koran verses about how “you have your religion and I have mine” during these sham “interfaith dialogues.” But now they are openly telling the same Christians who invite them into their churches that Christianity is false.
