Naye guys, who owns Tausi Coaches? I may be obsessed and hooked onto a transport operator that is an adversary.
You see, Tausi came as a saviour. We travellers on the Western route had suffered with high fares for years.
The Mbarara route was the most expensive and never had standard fare. And for frequent travellers, it was a nightmare. One day you go to the park thinking the fare to Mbarara is 30,000shs and you get a shocker- it's 50,000shs on a certain day.
The bus transport that monopolised the route had absolutely no reason for hiking fares. They would hide buses, issue tickets to us expensively arguing that there are no buses.
Then as hundreds of us are all stranded with our tickets in hand, five buses come and finish us off at once. But where would all the five buses come from? That was exploitation. It was around 2021-2023 at it's peak.
Some of us who proceeded to Bushenyi, we paid another 15,000shs in crowded premios to reached Ishaka. Then I had to pay another 5,000shs to reach Mashonga.
Then Tausi Coaches came on board. New buses, fast on the road and cheaper.
From 50,000shs to Mbarara, we went to 25,000shs to Ishaka. Mbarara route went to 20,000shs. From Ishaka to Mbarara dropped to 5,000shs. What a relief!
Transport fares stabilised. Efficiency and of course customer care improved because of Tausi.
High fuel prices may have caused a hike in fares, but they are standard and still far cheaper than before Tausi era.
For a travellers that needed 70,000shs to leave Kampala and reach my village, I now only need 35,000shs. Cut by half.
That is how Tausi Coaches hooked me onto their buses. For a person who travelled home like twice a year, now i can get bored of Kampala, and then head to the village with ease.
And this is not an advert. Just appreciation post of a traveller on board Tausi Coaches now and having used it thrice in a week.
