So many Republicans are calling more loudly for a ban on US diesel exports. Diesel is the fuel of US farming and trucking. The US is the world’s biggest diesel exporter (1.5m b/d). The argument is that an export ban would reduce domestic prices. It would also tilt Europe (including Britain) into recession. That might not worry Mr T, who has indicated in might jump on this particular bandwagon.
