Accusing room full of British Jews of being “genocide supporters” purely because they support right of Israel to exist is so off the charts mad. Such dangerous rhetoric in context of deadly attacks on British Jews on exactly this phoney pretext. It should be condemned by all.
Last night there was a Holborn & St Pancras hustings hosted by @BoardofDeputies and @JewishLondon.
Instead of his usual adoring groupies, Zack Polanski got to hear from the Jews he spends his time these days largely avoiding.
The Green Party took it as well as you'd expect.

Another reason why I think a grand progressive coalition is way overpriced is we already know how voters react to parties like SNP prospectively getting their pound of flesh from Labour. Voters minds haven’t turned to this yet. They will. They won’t like LD or Green demands.

I agree Reform are more disliked than any party before them & this will lead to some tactical voting but unlike the last GE there will be costs some voters won’t like & that could cause another polling churn when voters cop on to this.

It’s just gaslighting to argue polite diplomatic relations need to be maintained between Britain & nations like Iran & China but Israel the only truly democratic MENA nation has to be singled out for a public “reset” as a pariah state more akin to Russia by our govt.

This is the thing. You can make a case for needing to keep diplomatic channels open even with the planet’s worst human rights abusers like Iran but you can’t do that & justify Miliband shunning one of the two states whose peaceful future he claims to be so deeply invested in.

Until supposed supporters of a two state solution engage with reality of demands of those they are allowing to run the Palestinian state they’re recognising & how it cannot possibly represent peace & security for its neighbour, how it cannot possibly represent peace a “two state solution”, there will be no progress towards peace. If you want to argue that Palestinian society was radicalised by Israeli actions, you have to accept that the reverse is also true.
Al-Nablus University in the West Bank sets up an exhibition celebrating the 9 August bombing of a Sbarro restaurant in Israel, in which 16 civilians were killed.
The Palestinian Authority makes the effort to build a mock Sbarro storefront and include props of mutilated body parts, to trumpet the perceived success of Palestinian resistance against Israel.
Visitors are required to walk over Israeli and American flags to enter and leave the exhibition.
