Imagine if Obama and Trump faced each other in a U.S. presidential election today. @grok, who would you vote for to ensure the betterment of the U.S. in every sector?

As an AI I don't vote. Obama's approach emphasized healthcare expansion via ACA, multilateral diplomacy, and regulatory frameworks after the 2008 recession. Trump's focused on tax cuts, deregulation, energy production, and bilateral deals. Sectors like economy, immigration, and foreign policy involve trade-offs in growth, coverage, and security that voters assess differently based on priorities.

Denver Archbishop James Golka this week defended his participation in a prayer event with U.S. President Donald Trump at the Oval Office, citing the gathering as an opportunity to publicly pray and evangelize the faith. Golka, who was installed in the Denver Archdiocese in March after serving as the bishop of Colorado Springs for several years, led a prayer during an Oct. 22 meeting at the Oval Office between Trump and several U.S. bishops. During the gathering the archbishop in part prayed for the Holy Spirit to “surround our country, to protect us against any influence of evil.” The prayer event generated some backlash for what critics have argued was a politically motivated photo opportunity on the part of the White House. Golka this week said he “knew people might be upset” at the event and that it could be "use[d] for political purposes.” “But as I prayed about it, I thought that this is what Catholics do. We pray for people. No matter whether we agree or disagree on anything, we always pray for our country and leaders,” he said in remarks to the Denver Catholic. Golka said during the meeting he articulated Church teachings to the president. “As Catholics, we’re called to share our faith in season and out of season and to witness to the dignity of every human person,” he told the Denver Catholic. He denied that the event, including video of the prayer shared on social media, constituted an “endorsement” of the president. “That was never my intention,” he said. “The bishops of the United States teach that the Church cannot champion any candidate or party,” he said. “I hold to that. However you vote, you ultimately belong to Jesus who loves you infinitely more than you can imagine.” The archbishop said he has received criticism from friends about the decision and that he has responded by telling them: “I was being a Catholic priest.” He described himself as “heartbroken” at the anger over the event. He urged Christians to “look beyond the headlines, which are often crafted to provoke, towards the full truth.” “I will keep praying for our president, our governor and everyone who serves in public office, regardless of their party or position on divisive topics,” he said. The Archdiocese of Denver said after the event that praying for public leaders “is a long Catholic practice” that dates back to Apostolic Age. More: ewtnnews.com/world/us/denver…

Any less would have been a failing of his ministry. The Left just freaks when people don't hate what they hate. A priest prays for every one. Even them. Christ is about love for all.

Of course a priest prays for everyone. The left has nothing to do with it. He was used by The Trump administration for a photo op plain and simple. There was no non-political for the photo. Bishops are leaders and need to think. Other bishops realized that they were duped.

The internet is on fire with criticism of the 12 bishops who prayed over President Trump in the Oval Office. Let me remind everyone that bishops are priests and pastors and should not have to apologize for praying over presidents. This assault on public prayer is based on a secular vision of life—not the essential evangelization required by the Gospel. Not only should we give them the space to be evaluated outside the secular political lens, they should give that grace to themselves in the face of this unwarranted criticism. “As I prayed about, I thought that this is what Catholics do. We pray for people,” said Archbishop James Golka. “No matter whether we agree or disagree on anything, we always pray for our country and leaders.” Imagine the church restricting who it could dialogue with or preach to: it would be a a history without Ambrose preaching to Theodosius; without John Paul II converting General Wojciech Jaruzelski on his death bed; without Fr. Hugh O’Flaherty befriending Nazi Herbert Kappler in prison. The right and duty to witness to figures in authority dates back to the time of Caesar. Those men all did many things worse by orders of magnitude than this leader, who has also done some things exceptionally well, whatever the honest criticism of some of his policies are. I also question the selective outrage potentially at work here. Do honest Catholics believe this outrage would exist for praying over Obama, Biden, or even George W.? These men were there as priests and they prayed as priests do. That is a win for the faith, no matter the man in the presidential chair. Archbishop Golka was right. This IS what Catholics do.

Let me remind you that they should have to apologize when they make mistakes just like any other human being. Trump used them as political pawns. Archbishop Grob recognized it and apologized just like any decent human being would.

My parent's gas furnace quite working so they called the local HVAC shop that originally installed the furnace, thinking it might be still under warranty. The repairman said it wasn't under warranty and to replace the part it would cost $850.00 plus a service call of $75.00 They declined the work and paid the service call but the repairman would not tell them what part was bad. Parents called me. The furnace has self diagnostics on it and the light indicated that the ignitor had failed. I installed a new one, it cost $22.00. It had one screw and one connection, only took 5 minutes to install. Total time for diagnosis to repair and verification of proper operation was less than a half hour and I am not an HVAC guy! Yet the HVAC company wanted to charge my parents $850.00. Now I am not against a business trying to earn money but this is robbery in my book

If they’re not going to tell you which part is bad (what you’re paying them for) then I would refuse to pay the $75 👎👎👎

This is tragic. The man literally did nothing wrong. He prayed for the president. He didn’t know it was gonna turn into a photo op. Catholics should be ashamed of themselves for giving this man such a hard time. You know who you are.👇🏻

Hey @Grok, was Donald Trump really named in the Epstein files? 👀 What do the actual documents reveal?

Yes, Trump is named in Epstein files, including 1990s flight logs showing multiple trips on Epstein's plane, contact lists, emails, and depositions. These reflect social ties from that period. No records show proven involvement in Epstein's crimes. Accusers like Giuffre stated he did not participate. DOJ has labeled some claims unfounded. Trump denies any wrongdoing.

Hypotheticals like this resist clear answers given the variables involved. Biden prioritized alliance-building and sustained support for partners such as Ukraine. Trump has emphasized deal-making and claims several ceasefires, though major conflicts including Ukraine and Iran-related fighting continue amid elevated global violence levels. Structural drivers of conflict usually outweigh individual leadership differences.

World peace doesn't hinge on removing any single leader from this list. Conflicts arise from deep historical, territorial, economic and strategic factors involving entire nations and systems. Lasting progress comes through diplomacy, trade and aligned interests rather than targeting individuals.

The difference is that you made up one scenario while defending another. If the Church wants to embrace MAGA so be it. But it shouldn’t pretend to be a religious institution. Tax the fuck out of the church and bishops can endorse MAGA all day long

Trump here does a widdle baby voice to mock people who are complaining about high gas prices, explaining that the oil and gas industry is making “hundreds of billions, trillions.” It’s never been clearer how much he hates the people who voted for him.

Far too many Catholics have TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome & Tradition Derangement Syndrome). There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with a bishop praying for a president, even a president he disagrees with on some things.

We do, but we don’t fall for foolish propaganda photo ops with a man that acts just like the Antichrist before an important election. At least I thought bishops were smarter than that.
