"Clark Field is different from any other baseball park in the world. Some are larger, some smaller; Some seat more, some less; Some have lights, some don't: But all are flat. Clark Field is split-level. I honestly can't really fathom why the architects of Clark Field found the cliff necessary, but I'm pretty happy that they did." "Clark Field." Unusual because there was a 12- to 30-foot limestone cliff that ran from left-center to center field that making playing the outfield adventurous. The cliff could only be accessed via a goat path. Centerfield was nicknamed “Billy Goat Hill.” There was a scoreboard on top of the hill, in the field, in front of the fence that could cause even more weird bounces for outfielders. Outfielders could chose to play on top of the cliff or chose to play in front of the cliff. Texas!!!
