Does anyone in my network know (or is) an early stage founder that needs help shaping their company's narrative? I'm looking to help technical teams better articulate why their companies matter. Work samples & testimonials in the notion below - would appreciate any intros!

The point of man is to build, create, and improve the lives of others. The number on the screen is not relevant.

The Breakout List is a great resource for understanding the best high-growth companies to join in the current moment. For people looking for roles at these companies, I aggregated all their careers pages into a Breakout List job board: breakoutlist.work/
I made a list of great startups to join. It's called the Breakout List. The list has 92 companies. These are the 20 with 25 or fewer employees: - Hone (@moritz_stephan, @CarloWillem, @oqbrady) - Normal (@ansonyuu, @hudzah) - Standard Intelligence (@G413N, @devanshpandey) - Tacit Labs (@ninklefitz, @AmDroste) - American Terawatt (@atroyn, @rslparker, @aranibatta) - Conduit (@clemvonstengel, @riopopper) - Convergent (Omkar Savant, Vivek Katara, @debnilsur) - Core Automation (@MillionInt, @_arohan_) - Engram (@dan_biderman, @EyubogluSabri, @realJessyLin) - Instinct (@noahrshinn) - Keenable (@styskin, Matthias Petri) - Lumaril (Mark Elliot, Ben Duffield) - Neion Bio (@Dimkell, Sam Levin) - Pangram Labs (@max_spero_, @bradley_emi) - Quadrillion (@echinaceous) - Re (@karnsaroya, @AnandDhillon, @thecliffwhite, @benaneesh) - Ricursive (@annadgoldie, @Azaliamirh) - Sail Research (@neilmovva, @blintzbase) - Trajectory (@rronak_, @michaelelabd, @QuantumArjun) - Watney Robotics (Sean Cheong, Ryan Gannon) Picks from Elad Gil, Charlie Songhurst, Keith Rabois, Mike Vernal, Alana Goyal, Sonya Huang, Ramtin Naimi, Marc Bhargava, Cory Levy, Aashay Sanghvi, Konstantine Buhler, John Luttig, Varun Gupta, Ray Tonsing and Avichal Garg. Disclosure: I'm a small investor in American Terawatt, Convergent, Standard Intelligence and Trajectory (in this post), and in Factory, Physical Intelligence and SF Compute (elsewhere on the list). I didn't vote. The full list is on Breakout List.

The future of computing is voice-first, screen-minimal interfaces for orchestrating agents in the cloud So I built Jo, a proof-of-concept wearable robot companion that does exactly that, built on top of @openai's GPT-Live and @NousResearch Hermes. Here's me talking to Jo to build a website and execute a Bitcoin swap:

After seeing the success of Tome, I was surprised to see @keithpeiris and @hliriani sunset the product. They had 25 million users...why were the pivoting to such a boring vertical? Only after going deep into the history of CRMs and understanding @lightfld's architecture did I realize that legacy sales tooling could not be retrofitted to make the most of frontier intelligence. In order to be truly AI native, you have to rebuild the system around customer context from scratch. Going forward, the smartest thing a founder can do is give high agency employees access to a world model of their business: a real time representation of their customers, how those relationships developed, and where they might go next. In doing so, founders can effectively use frontier intelligence to better understand potential outcomes and create a culture where the whole company is learning from its users. The teams that win will be the ones that move past customer categorization and learn how to weave together every customer touchpoint into evolving stories that help shape what they build next.

Lightfield co-founder and CEO Keith Peiris on how they got 10 startups to use a product they didn't ask for: "First, we built a go-to-market assistant. We got people to like it, and then we couldn't get anyone to pay for it... We had all of these AEs using it every day, but we had no pricing power because it wasn't our data." "We decided to shrink the team, start from scratch, and reimagine the CRM from first principles." "We built in the dark for about four months. Then we needed to find people to use our CRM, and it turns out no one wants to use your four-month-old CRM." "We looked at the only asset we had left, which was this giant office space we couldn't get rid of. We were like, 'I'm going to post on X and LinkedIn: You can sit in our office space if you use our CRM.'" "We found 10 startups to come use the product... they were in it every day. They were mad about everything missing. They were mad about how slow it was, but they were in it every day, and they were giving us Slack feedback about it every two hours." "We have this barely working, barely finished product that people are in all the time, where they care about it so much they're going to give us feedback about it on an hourly basis." @keithpeiris @joeschmidtiv @arampell

the crm space for the longest time has been a battle amongst Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho. i came across @lightfld a month ago and it was impressive how they gave new life to a tool that is traditionally clunky and utilitarian (read: you can make beautiful products) very excited to see a team be so intentional about the world they’re building in a problem space that everyone’s written off

This is a good history lesson on the CRM category and managing customer relationships in general. It's also a nice "why now" for why companies need machines for continuous learning from the market (eg. the business world model). Thanks to @yb_effect for doing all of the research and writing about us.

Founders start with a theory on how the world changes if they build their company. Then they bring that theory to market and start iterating. @yb_effect has a clear take on why this has been hard in the past, and what can be done differently now.
