What is a “studio”? In the modern sense, it is no longer a physical entity, but simply a business model and component of a brand Brands, as well, are a form of capital
Replying to @J3ssicaStarling
You might, because it doesn’t make much sense. Male sex workers who don’t own studios are proletarians by nature of their relation to production. And their work is sexual content for the purpose of others’ sexual gratification. Sounds like sex work to me.

Not the only factor, of course, but social media slop has played an underestimated role persuading Jewish-American boomers and Gen Xers that the Democratic party is on the verge of an antisemitic, or even anti-Zionist, "takeover." You can't be a well-informed, discerning observer f US politics and maintain that the party of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries is on the slippery slope to pogroms. You can't live in reality and think that AOC has it in for Jews. There's been a real shift at the Dem median but it's a shift favoring stronger condemnations of Israeli war crimes and settler expansion, and exerting real leverage on Netanyahu's government, rather than giving them the de facto blank check Biden did. If *that's* your idea of an antisemitic takeover you're so far from reality you should seek treatment.
Replying to @mattyglesias
Jews are washed imo - total collapse in their once vaunted ability to interface with the American political system because their donor decision making is driven by emotional reactions to slop

My dad has already received literally thousands of nonstop crazed texts/calls/voicemails over the past several days threatening him with brutal, extreme violence, so I think we are well beyond the "Streisand Effect" at this point

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

The homeless woman murdered in Central Park was a beloved artist and birdwatcher who made beautiful pieces dedicated to birds. She went by Lee Rogers, but also was known as Elise Bainbridge Hill. Her art was awesome. I hope her life story is shared and not just the grisly details

On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell @jvplive) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same @Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.
HOW DID A UNIVERSITY SUSPEND PROTESTORS AND NOT ALL 7 OF THE GUYS WHO ÐRUGGED AND R@PED A GIRL FOR HOURS AND HOURS!?!? JUST WOW

they're calling it the greatest poll question of all time
We tested how voters define the "working class" by asking about popular fictional characters. Voters agree most on defining Homer Simpson (+56), Fran Fine (+46), Peter Griffin (+46), and Hank Hill (+45) as working class.

ABDULRAHMAN MOHAMED EL-SAYED, whose name, ethnicity and religion are noted but of course irrelevant, emerged from the DSA kasbah at the hour of asr, his affiliations perfumed with Abbasid revanchism, his platform read right to left. A muezzin softly wailed “Hasan Piker.” Michigan trembled. I say this as a Democrat and lifelong human rights activist.

"Welcome to Xenon." Suzanne Ciani composes the music to Bally's first talking pinball table in 1980. This is from Omni: A New Frontier, a 1981-82 documentary series narrated by Peter Ustinov that was a spin-off from Omni Magazine. A collation video from the series was also released in 1988. Suzanne Ciani is one of the pioneers of electronic music, a five-time Grammy award-nominated composer best known for her albums Seven Waves (1982) and The Velocity Of Love (1986). She's currently touring, appearing at festivals and events in Glasgow, London, Oakland, Roswell, New York and Melbourne if you're in the neighbourhood.

These trainings exist because Supreme Court made it so that if an employer takes preventative measures against discrimination, they can avoid liability for subsequent discrimination that occurs. It was an effort to weaken the civil rights act.

MAGA election denialism is nutty, but I have never been required by law to spend minimum 2 hours undergoing a training at my place of employment where I had to affirm it in 17 different ways in order to pass/be deemed compliant

It really is crazy how everyone on Bluesky is white. Feels like they need some DEI

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.
TUBERVILLE: Fauci killed 9 million people FOX BUSINESS: Yeah. We can't prove that, right? TUBERVILLE: We can
