The war in Iran hopefully ends with lasting peace & freedom for the long oppressed citizens of Iran. Sooner rather than later. Although, like most Albertans, I welcome the boost to our revenues, I don't want to benefit upon the suffering of others. IF oil prices stay...... 1of2

It's not surprise to me, it's an extremely detailed and tedious counting process. But also very secure and robust, the balancing of votes issued, declined, spoilt vs counts has to be triple checked before reported. The votes are highly accurate and verifiable. Very honest count

What a difference a year makes. October 26 rally vs October 2025 rally. Now, weather is worse today and still 15 mins to postponed start time.

I had twice as many at the Legislature on March 8th 2016 to announce our Bill 6 & Carbon Tax Petitions asking for Plebiscites. A large block of Albertans have given up on Canada. I understand why but remain committed to making this imperfect Confederation better. For all of us.

You don't seem to understand that your job is to help guide the City of Calgary towards efficient cost effective management of our roads. water & sewer. Reduce our taxes & fees, fix what you helped screw up before promoting the Socialists who want to keep Calgary's offices empty!

Wow! Quite the power move.
It cannot be understated: our broken immigration system has caused high unemployment, high home prices and high inflation. It must be fixed and provincial rights strengthened. Today, the Prime Minister got a copy of our referendum questions including the 9 on immigration and constitutional reforms. If Albertans give us a strong mandate on these questions, our government will get right to work on these needed reforms. And as I’ve said many times, please vote for Option 1, a strong Alberta within a united Canada, and yes to the rest! 🍁

And PM @MarkJCarney laughed at it. Which sums up Canada's attitude towards our concerns. His tour stops have just motivated Albertans to choose Option 2 to keep the pressure on until we are granted what Quebec already has. I was leaning Option 1 until he rejected the 9.

The Prime Minister and I have found common ground on many things over the last 18 months. However, it appears that he has yet to fully understand just how damaging the open-border policies of his predecessor were. Those policies caused Canada’s cost of living to skyrocket, overwhelmed our social services, and made homes and jobs unattainable for thousands of young Canadians. That’s why I’m encouraging Albertans to vote ‘yes to the rest’ to give our government a strong mandate to take more control over our immigration system, so that we can prioritize economic migrants, put Albertans first for jobs, and ensure Albertans’ social services are sustainable. We’re also asking for a strong mandate to work with willing provinces to reform the courts, abolish the senate, and protect provincial jurisdiction. I look forward to hearing from Albertans on October 19th.

What's the best way to help him understand our frustrations? This is why I refuse to get angry at hundreds of thousands of Albertans who want to choose Option 2 to keep the pressure on the ROC. They aren't traitors, they simply want their children to have freedom & prosperity.

I read this Colby Cosh column, I could have written much of it. "I will go vote “No” to separation, but the separatists are my people in a way most of my Edmonton neighbours are not, and part of me will regret their deserved humiliation." nationalpost.com/opinion/if-…

Both Jean and I have been clear on these issues for years. I’m Alberta first! But not voting to leave when Canada finally seems to be working or at least starting to work. The separatists have no sense of timing or winning conditions & they have chosen some horrible spokesmen.

We still need more Alberta sovereignty within Canada. I try to keep it simple. IF it's already been granted/given to Quebec, then Alberta has every right to the same. I also hope that the hard-core separatists don't destroy Alberta's aspirations for a Fair Deal with the ROC.

A day before the writ dropped for the BC provincial election, then CentreBC MLA Rosyln Bird said she would not go back to the BC Conservatives and then went on to imply MLAs still in the party have views she cannot be in the same caucus with. Bird is now running as a Conservative again because she is a political hack. We all know the MLAs she was sideswiping there. People like MLAs Heather Maahs, David Williams, Sheldon Claire, Anna Kindy, etc. Bird is the MLA for Prince George-Valemount, the implication socially conservative MLAs are too much for her is an indirect attack on her own ridings voters which are far more like Claire or Maahs than they are like Bird. Most of the candidates the BC Conservatives are running are like Bird. Federal Liberals wearing a BC Conservative suit. The BC Conservative candidate for Vancouver-Langara Jamie Stein literally campaigned for the BC NDP in the same riding in 2024 and he endorsed federal Liberals in 2025. The BC Conservative candidate for Saanich North and the Islands Ryan Windsor was a provincial Green and federal Liberal candidate before he suddenly realized he was a proud Conservative about 5 seconds ago. This is why OneBC exists. With the majority of BC Conservative candidates you basically have to want to be fooled to vote for them. "We need to stop the NDP" With what? The party full of Liberal candidates promising basically no changes? They will "repeal DRIPA" but are also the party full of MLAs who want to pass their own "Reconciliation Act" and campaign on "economic reconciliation and direct partnership" with band governments which is another they want to do the same thing the Eby NDP and Carney Liberals are doing. Get projects done by paying out massive amounts of money to bands or give them large ownership stakes in projects either using taxpayer money to buy-in or just being given ownership stakes for nothing in return. That's nonsense. OneBC would play hardball to get projects built - if projects get challenged in court by band governments then those bands should have support for their initiatives with the provincial government halted. Only the legally required absolute minimum payments to band governments blocking development will be given. And remember the obstinate behaviour of band governments has nothing to do with Indigenious British Columbians. Bands governments just pretend they represent Indigenious people like ethnicity/religious based activists groups pretend they speak on behalf of entire groups of people. Band government are often allies within the Reconciliation Industry full of woke activists, lawyers, and consultants. It's a way of making money and attacking the West at the same time. The economy of obstruction. If you play into it, you will get more of it. The OneBC approach is "Just Say No" Cut off the cashflow of the grift industry by not signing absurd deals for massive amounts of money and land. "No" is an answer.

British Columbians have returned to their tried and true way to get rid of a dangerous NDP Gov't. SK has the Sask Party, AB has the UCP. Here in Western Canada we do what we must in order to punt the Socialist NDP. Accept the will of the people Wyatt, getting rid of Eby is #1!

Hey Cory, I remember how you & I set aside our differences and united to help fight for Eddie Maurice. We made a difference. Our conservative ambitions took hold & strengthened our @Alberta_UCP. Regardless of final numbers on Option 1 or 2, we must stay united against the NDP.

Should Danielle Smith be able to order your local council to vote to approve rezoning for a massive AI data centre? And threaten to fire your democratically elected mayor if they vote against it? This latest provincial overreach isn't about density. It's about your legal right to a fair hearing.

A bit melodramatic Mr. Mayor. The announcement yesterday specifically supported the steps that you and yyc council have taken to address this issue, while ensuring Edmonton begins taking a similar approach. The fact is these municipal infill policies have greatly devalued hundreds of properties over the last several years without compensation to the home owner. That is a breach of property rights and every elected official should be supportive of adjusting the approach on this issue. The UCP government will continue to stand up for regular homeowners and property rights.
With the latest provincial overreach, Danielle Smith is now ordering me how to vote at Calgary City Council. If I refuse, I risk losing my job. I want to work constructively with the province, even when we disagree. But we must be free to listen to residents and make fair decisions.

He's not near as mature as he gives himself credit for. His overblown petulant outbursts are wearing thin on even his supporters. I'm annoyed that he declared Oct Islamic month. Any month would be bad enough but one that has the crimes of Oct 7th to mourn adds insult to injury.

Educated folks get that more people = a stronger economy. And they know that brown skin is not dangerous. And they know that a small minority of mostly rural folks who talk like white nationalists and who don't actually know what communism actually is should not get their way.

Are you claiming that anyone wanting a rational, controlled immigration policy is uneducated? Quit denigrating the wisdom of the quiet, still mostly silent, majority. And posting bogus push polls doesn't fool anyone but fools. They can see & understand what they witness.

Sheeeesh, that's one helluva over the top response young man. Your protestations about not working with/for either the UCP or NDP are also very telling. Rather than building constructive relationships, you appear hellbent on creating toxic barriers. Alienating way too many Sir

Threatening to murder Muslim children. Telling Muslim families to leave Canada. This is absolutely sickening. My heart is with the students, families and staff at MAC Islamic School. I'm grateful to the faith leaders standing shoulder to shoulder with Calgary's Muslim community today. An attack on one faith community is an attack on all of us. Every child deserves to feel safe at school. Every family deserves to feel safe practising their faith. There is no place for Islamophobia, threats or intimidation in our city. Calgary must stand united against hatred, and those responsible must be held accountable.

When can we meet so that our team can show you the storage cavern solution that would help to avoid this type of huge differential spread? We are about to start pre-washout validation drilling, coring, flow & injection testing soon. Had this been done 7 yrs ago, AB w/b +$20B!
I regret to inform you that the discount for Canadian heavy oil has blown out again because our pipelines are essentially full, with WCS trading at almost $25 a barrel less than WTI. The cost of re-exporting out of the Gulf is prohibitive due to high tanker costs boereport.com/2026/10/05/dis…

A challenge with having no official spokesperson for the Alberta independence movement, is that anybody can be painted as speaking on behalf of the movement.

They block me because I'm a solid Conservative who called out their nonsense long ago. Alberta has grievances. We must all come back together to fix as much as we can, within the reality of what's possible.

A national strategic energy reserve - supplied by Alberta into Ontario would give Canada leverage against supply disruptions and price shocks. - a Northern Shield pipeline from Hardisty to Sarnia (which has the perfect salt cave formations for a strategic reserve) would strengthen national energy infrastructure, support refining in Canada, and enhance sovereign control and energy security. The pitch: financialpost.com/commoditie…
Why doesn’t Canada profit from releasing oil and diesel from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve? Because we are the only G7 with no reserve. Our Conservative plan changes that. Build a strategic reserve to profit Canada, boost our dollar, lower fuel prices, and make us more independent: conservative.ca/cpc/emergenc…

Can the Salt cavers be expanded by Hardesty as well or are they maxed out?

Their load out facilities would need to be expanded and expensive above ground (vulnerable to terrorism attacks) would need to be built. LLB County more secure, far less expensive to build large volume storage. Salt caverns plus unit train capacity can be offered quickly.
