Just an amateur writer from California who is trying to parse through the madness of the world and its wars

Lake Arrowhead, California
After a lot of thought I have decided to return to twitter. From 2023 to late 2025 I was part of the crowd that followed and wrote about the war in Ukraine, both here on Twitter and elsewhere. I did it because Ukraine did so much to change my life.. I was so moved by the the Ukrainians I met online and the footage I saw on Telegram and Twitter that I decided to take leaps of faith that I had never even considered taking before; tapering off of a ten year methadone regimen, quitting cigarettes, getting fit for the first time in my life - and many other things which I never believed I could do, the courage for which I sort of "borrowed" from the Ukrainians I knew personally and from those brave souls fighting in the war whose helmet camera footage I watched nearly every day (which is a habit that I don't recommend, by the way) I have a wall in my house lined with flags and trinkets from friends around the world - I even kept the packaging because I was so proud. I had such high hopes for the future and for a swift victory against the Russians, I remember believing that the world would unite to support with the United States leading the way.. at that time I couldn't have imagined the way things would fall apart into chaos and malice and negativity. Social media changes you over time, especially in the context of a war. You can start out with the best of intentions and sooner or later you will end up in disputes, be accused of propaganda and spying, find yourself feeling suspicious of others (especially those who ask for money) and the constant flow of bad news and aggression and lies will turn you sour one way or another. That negative energy (including that which came from my own behavior and words) is why I left several months back. So why return? Well, I always wanted to emulate those few who kept their dignity and sense of focus and professionalism intact for this entire time, those who have stayed the course of rallying public support for Ukraine, educating people about the war and the Ukrainian people, and offering a counterweight to Russia's hybrid warfare that is present across all of social media. In short, I want to turn a new leaf and try again. I think I can do better. Hopefully nobody will even know who I am. It's not even really relevant to anything that I have to offer here; I don't have any fancy impressive credentials, I never served in the military, I'm just somebody that was pulled into this by chance, somebody that wants to push back against the darkness and the lies shoulder to shoulder with everyone else who is fighting for what is right. Im also someone who makes mistakes and is wrong sometimes (especially about Iran, which, it turns out, really is a problem that must be dealt with.) I wish I could apologize directly to those within NAFO and certain US and European diplomats and officials that I gave such a hard time to with my previous account, but for now my apology must be sent in spirit. I hope we can all work together for the common good, even when we disagree on many individual issues. I don't want followers. I'll never ask for money. I just want to have not stayed silent and to not fall victim to hatred or indifference. I am working on some projects that I will post here in time. I'm sure I'll also be using this account to rebut lies and misinformation and aggression against Ukraine and the US. In fact if anyone ever reads this that'll probably have been how you found me. If you feel the same as I do, feel free to shoot me a DM, especially if you're American or Ukrainian (or if you like motorcycles!)

It’s her little shoes with perfectly tied laces by a mother who loved her that gets me. Now they’re both gone.
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

The Ukrainians, upon learning of our betrayal, told our envoy in Miami that they would burn down every port and refinery. They meant it. Godspeed.
The moment of another impact against port infrastructure in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

worst administration in the history of our country. 150 civilians killed and hundreds injured in the terror campaign just last week, and you decide to use it as leverage? against an ally? while not demanding or even speaking negatively of Russia and Putin? it's unAmerican.

Oh that's rich saying Zelensky is the one that "doesn't know what he's talking about" when you're 100% wrong (or more likely just flat out lying for the cameras) when you say Ukraine doesn't have Starshield @SecRubio

“we will pay any price….to assure the success and survival of liberty.” Is this still true? Do we prize liberty or do we prize power and purse? No more clear test than the choice between Ukraine and Russia. Abandon Ukraine and we abandon liberty. Eventually even our own.

“Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal. The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions. One of the sources said Mr Trump “agreed” with Mr Musk’s suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system.

100% true, and anyone telling you otherwise is a liar. Russia is NO FRIEND to America, Europe, or the West. In fact, their entire foreign policy, founding myth, and eschatology are centered around destroying the West by any means necessary!
It’s just common sense. Russia is no friend to the US. Our own Secretary of War testified under oath a couple weeks ago that Russia was helping Iran murder US service members. When asked who the US wanted to see win the war, the Department of War said “not Russia”. Russia is not on the right side of history. Russia has been helping Iran kill Americans. I really question the motive of any so called “influencer” who says Russia is the good guy in this situation. Russian state media spends all day everyday amplifying and botting the social media accounts of every single rabid anti-Trump and pro-Hitler podcaster out there. Notice how the “influencers” never mention this. It’s the same people who refuse to condemn Tucker Carlson. Interesting isn’t it? One big club.

I think it’s time for Putin to stop killing innocent people in Ukraine and pretending like Russia wants peace when all Putin wants is to conquer Ukraine and eliminate their sovereignty. If he stops attacking Ukraine, then martial law in Ukraine will end and the Ukrainian people will be able to do what President Trump said: Have an election and likely elect a new leader. There’s no elections in Ukraine under Martial Law. The Martial Law ends when the war ends. The fastest way to get a new leader in Ukraine is for Putin to stop massacring innocent people. It’s common sense.

Pretty clear that Trump/Hegseth are doing everything they can to force Ukraine to surrender to Putin by withholding all US assistance while actively helping fund the Russian war machine to kill as many civilians as possible including kids. What a dark, evil chapter in US history.

Well, congratulations to the Americans. Now you get to drive on our blood, but hey, at least it’s cheaper. I’m writing this right now, sitting in a minibus in Kyiv. Today, I met up with some friends. For the first time in a while, I just wanted to spend some time together, talk, and enjoy an ordinary evening. But I had to leave early. I recently returned to Ukraine and haven’t managed to find a job yet. I can’t afford a taxi, and I live quite far away, so I had to say goodbye to my friends and catch one of the last minibuses home. And then, just as we were crossing a bridge… Ballistic missiles. No warning. No time to react. No chance to find shelter. Explosions literally overhead. The sounds of air defence interceptions were so close that it felt as though everything was happening right next to my ear. And only after it had already happened did the air raid alert arrive. Thank you. Perfect timing. You’re simply trying to get home. On public transport. After an ordinary evening with friends. And a second later, you could be dead. And perhaps the most frightening thing is how unpredictable all of this has become, how deeply it has become part of our everyday lives. I can already feel the psychological consequences of living under this constant threat. And now I’m learning that a Russian strike has hit a nine-storey residential building. There’s a fire. There were people inside. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has already confirmed the strike. Many people have no electricity. They’re sitting in dark apartments, trying to survive yet another night of Russian terror. And just imagine. Someone came home from work tonight. Someone had dinner with their family. Someone put their children to bed. Someone simply lay down, hoping to wake up tomorrow. And then a Russian missile struck. And we don’t even know yet how many people won’t wake up tomorrow. This is what our lives look like. While somewhere in the world people discuss cheaper oil, profitable deals, and economic interests, Ukrainians are paying for this war with their own blood. We are not talking about abstract geopolitics. We are talking about people who simply wanted to get home. People who wanted to fall asleep in their own beds. People who wanted to live another day. And I want everyone who talks about the economic benefits of doing business with Russia to stop for just one second and think about the human cost of those so-called “benefits.” Because for you, it might just be a number at the gas pump. For us, it’s another night we might not survive.

SPECIAL REPORT: The United States and Europe risk squandering the best opportunity since 2022 to alter Russia’s trajectory toward a longer and larger war. Ukraine currently has the best chance of seizing the strategic initiative against Russia since December 2022, while simultaneously facing the greatest risk to its momentum. Russia’s ballistic missile and jet-powered drone campaign against Ukraine, alongside its growing kinetic attacks against NATO states, aims to drive Ukraine and its allies into a reactive stance and distract them from seizing a hard-won opportunity to hold the strategic initiative against Russia. The Kremlin’s offer to supply diesel to global markets is a cognitive warfare effort that aims to disrupt the momentum of the effective pressure campaign against Russia’s energy sector. The Kremlin is vigilant about Ukraine and its partners holding the initiative and seeks to deter and disrupt it at all costs. The United States and Europe can either deny the Kremlin’s strategy or risk a greater war with greater escalation risks.
