If you think you had a tough day, spare a thought for @Mr_Andrew_Fox who woke up this morning and learnt he'd have to defend the murder of a 5-year old girl. Andrew, do you ever think 'they don't pay me enough for this'?

The fact that mainstream Zionist diaspora voices like Melanie Philips and Natasha Hausdorff are now arguing in favor of settler terrorism is actually a good development. One of the strengths of the Zionist movement in the past was its ability to sell itself as moderate and reasonable. At this point, they are defending gangs of goons that are terrorizing helpless villagers. Steps that most Israelis considered abhorrent until very recently. There is clearly nothing they won't defend and that tarnishes not only Israel but its last remaining hack supporters. This will only contribute to their blessed and imminent downfall.
Ms. Melanie Genocide is correct to point out that the phrase “settler violence” is a complete misnomer. “Settler” implies its individuals, rather than the Israeli army and government, responsible for the violence. Yet 100% of the terrorism is sponsored and supported by the government and army. “Violence” is also a misnomer. It falsely implies sporadic incidents rather than organized, daily terrorist attacks sponsored by the IDF to murder, ethnically cleanse and forcibly displace millions of Palestinians for committing the crime of being born Palestinian in Palestine.

Based on the data in the Humanitarian Situation reports at ochaopt.org (put together very hastily, any inaccuracies are not deliberate): * May: 245 requests/154 denied/28 impeded or cancelled - 63% denial rate/27% facilitation rate * June: 361 requests/154 denied/81 impeded or cancelled/105 facilitated - 43% denial rate/30% facilitation rate * July (extrapolated): 285 requests/66 denied/113 impeded or cancelled/106 facilitated - 23% denial rate/37% facilitation rate The UN, I argue, responded to Israel's increased willingness to grant and facilitate requests, and the increasingly severe humanitarian situation in Gaza, by increasing the number of requests for aid movements. They noted the apparent change in Israel policy at the end of May, for example: shorturl.at/e0hEu (in truth there's a lot of UN communication on this point and issues related to challenges of aid delivery, all publicly available on their various websites). I understand the picture painted here is not consistent with your narrative. If you have data or evidence to support that narrative (rather than what you feel is obvious from the circumstances), I'm definitely interested to see it; without that, it's really just just a theory and hard for somebody who doesn't share your views to accept, and probably not worth us discussing further. I would also argue that the logic of your theory is inconsistent: you argue that the UN wants to make Israel look bad but then at the time when Israel is under the most intense pressure and would most benefit from aid delivery being increased, the UN suddenly decides to change its tactics (even though nobody but Israel is blaming them) and start distributing more aid and relieve some of the pressure on Israel? I would say Israel has a much more obvious motivation to increase aid distribution.

CORRECTION: I missed the data from the final week of June (as above, this was put together very quickly so likely not 100% accurate): * May: 245 requests/154 denied/28 impeded or cancelled - 63% denial rate/27% facilitation rate * June: 446 requests/177 denied/103 impeded or cancelled/145 facilitated - 40% denial rate/32% facilitation rate * July (extrapolated): 285 requests/66 denied/113 impeded or cancelled/106 facilitated - 23% denial rate/37% facilitation rate

~12 million people around the world who identify as Palestinian somehow don't exist? Despite being born in Palestine, or descended from families rooted in the land for generations, most of whom never set foot in what is now Jordan, Syria, Egypt, they're somehow not Palestinian?

The Lava Cafe gives its address as next to the American school - the American School in Gaza was destroyed. Everybody knows these videos are fake and can easily verify on Google Earth. What's the point? Nobody seriously believes there's no humanitarian crisis is Gaza anymore

We’ve reached a stage where the Israeli govt can do anything… Commit countless war crimes Bomb countless schools, hospitals & safe zones Kill countless medics, peacekeepers & children Announce ethnic cleansing, concentration camps & a will to eliminate all Palestinians And our supposed civilised western leaders let it happen So I think we can safely assume they are corrupt, compromised, immoral - or all of the above.

It is truly sick watching Israel’s opponents weaponizing the word genocide against Israel as they defend themselves against an existential threat. Thankfully, we have warriors like @GreenblattJD.

Even Netanyahu does not claim this. Even Golda Meir didn’t claim it. It was not even Israel’s claim when independence was declared in 1948. The ICJ has rejected it. Natasha tours the world with this mistaken thesis. It is wrong and extremely irritating.
Israel is not occupying Arab land. Egypt and Jordan occupied Israeli land and Israel reconquered it. Here, international law expert Natasha Hausdorff explains.

Slanderous lie. Rogan and I talked about the June 17th massacre, verified by several sources—even acknowledged by the IDF. Shaun posts unrelated screenshot (with the date cropped) from a month ago. He knows what we're talking about because I sent it to him before his post.
This is how it works now The media reports a complete lie, from a terrorist organization Then you go on Joe Rogan and repeat the lie to tens of millions of people And then the publication retracts the original story, but the damage is already done Bravo 👏

I support my colleague from Ramallah: Extremist settler violence is not only reprehensible when they target IDF reservists. They harass and attack Palestinian communities regularly and this needs to be stopped.
Highly relevant alert, addressing rampant settler violence and the resulting pressure on local communities, resulting in growing numbers of displacement. This violates essential rights of these communities and needs to stop urgently!

This narrative ignores everything that happened before 1948. The Arab Revolt was Palestinian-led and explicitly nationalistic. The fact that the movement lost momentum following brutal British repression and the events of 1947-49 (including the Nakba) when there was no functioning Palestinian leadership, and Palestinians temporarily accepted the new political reality of Jordanian rule, doesn't somehow erase the history of Palestinian ethno-national identity. That identity was already well-established long before its resurgence in the 1960s.

This view renders Zionism as a political movement immune to any sort of criticism (should it be the only ethno-nationalist movement not subject to scrutiny?) and erases the problem of the displacement of Palestinians and their own indigeneity. There are many criticisms of Zionism which do not mean denying that Israel has a right to exist, and by saying otherwise you risk conflating legitimate political discussion with racism and shutting-down that discussion.

Did you get your info from this post? It's COGAT, they're partly responsible for the blockade - they're not saying it was sent from Israel today, they're saying they let some aid through the blockade they are enforcing, which has meant hospitals like Nasser are severely under-resourced and often non-functional.

The Hague Regulations (Art. 42): “Territory is considered occupied when it is actually placed under the authority of the hostile army, and the occupation extends only to the territory where such authority has been established and can be exercised.” Currently ~60% of the West Bank is under full Israeli military and civil control, meeting this definition. The Fourth Geneva Convention (Art. 49): "The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies." Settlements are viewed by international law as a form of population transfer into occupied territory, which is prohibited. This is why the ICC is investigating whether the transfer of Israeli civilians into occupied Palestinian territory constitutes a war crime.

This is absolutely deranged in its deceit. What actually happened is Israel released footage of a completely separate incident involving criminal gangs. 'Spiked' are now claiming this means Israel didn't massacre Palestinians waiting for aid., Insane. Absolutely insane.
On Sunday we were told the IDF killed 31 Palestinians. It shot them in cold blood as they waited for food. Now the BBC admits the story was ‘incorrect’. The media constantly lie about Israel. They’ve become propagandists for Hamas, says Brendan O’Neill buff.ly/JHpGMnj

What is confusing? The third paragraph clearly explains that they didn't retract the article but separately debunked a video claiming to show the incident, as was clear from the article you shared yesterday but you somehow didn't notice and spread misinformation
