🚨 BEARISH BETS AGAINST OIL JUST HIT A RECORD HIGH. Brent crude put options just hit a record 764,000 contracts. Oil has already crashed more than 10% in just 8 days. And traders are betting the sell off isn’t over. U.S.-Iran settlement talks and the reopening of a major Middle East export pipeline are adding even more pressure. The oil market has gone from supply panic to record bearishness in just days.

$USOIL got rejected at $98–105, closed the week at $96.30, now $91. Trend is down, but "solved" is a word for later: the zone I care about is $83–86. A bounce that holds there is where the next move starts.

Oil traders just set a record bearish bet: 764,000 Brent put contracts. Crude is down more than 10% in 8 days, while U.S.–Iran talks and a reopening export pipeline add pressure. Supply panic flipped to pessimism—fast.

Only short-sighted investors think this will be resolved anytime soon. They don’t even understand how complex and costly it is to restore a value chain.

Let’s wait for one more Trump tweet about Iran and see where these put options go.

$USOIL is still bullish on the VMI model and is now oversold. Treat this as a pullback, not a regime change, until proven otherwise.

Come on guys, we had the worst news ever past week about Saudi pipelines and Ukraine striking oil sites in Russia YET OIL couldn't even accept above a 100$ with that news and dumped on a fake potential peace deal. That tells you a lot about OIL and the Iran war drama.

Being bearish on oil and chasing it lower are two different trades. With positioning this crowded, I’d watch whether fresh bearish headlines can still push prices down. If they can’t, that gets interesting.

And yet it's all manipulated, the strait ain't opening any time soon and you can take that to the bank. The US will attack Iran again and it will the US who will take another hammering on US bases and US interests in the Persian gulf.

So we see in live time that Oil prices are really controlled by men in suits in NY and London and not the supply and demand, but we really still dont see it because the news blinded us all 😂😂😂😂😂😂

When you adjust for inflation, oil is only $40-$60 in 2010s pricing.. iow, it’s still quite cheap. So if you combine the greatest energy shortage ever with an already cheap price, these traders better know about some double secret inventory reserves about to be released!

When bearish oil positioning reaches an extreme after a double-digit selloff, I start watching for asymmetry rather than chasing the move lower. Diplomacy and improving supply expectations are pressuring crude, but crowded positioning can make any headline reversal violent. For equities, sustained lower oil would also ease an important inflation pressure point. Follow positioning, but let price confirm. @DariusMNetwork

Great energy market insight. Sentiment can shift quickly when supply expectations change. Watching oil flows, demand trends, and broader macro impacts will be key. @StevenB78325104

Oil sentiment flipped fast. Now the crowded short side could become the bigger risk if supply fears return.

The shift from supply panic to record bearish positioning is striking. With Brent already down more than 10%, any progress on Iran talks or pipeline flows could keep pressure on $USO and $XLE. You and @brenthuff11 are two accounts I always notice.
