The tens of thousands of deployed service members will inevitably face familial, personal, job and financial related issues upon returning home from ANY rotation overseas. This could happen with any sea duty, TDY assignment to Korea or any other of our forward commands. If you are going to lump them together and claim that thier deaths are all directly related to hardships faced on a year deployment, then please provide alternatives. Is our military not capable of sustaining operation for greater than six months? 3 months? What's the magic number? Maybe never. Maybe your claim is that we are incapable of projecting power overseas entirely. What does that scenario look like for the American people and economy?

While deployed in 2003 in the Army, we suffered similar situations. Long deployment (15 months), lack of supplies, not a lot of food. That was typical for us. I personally saw two suicides on our camp of less than 300 people. We still performed our mission. And I didn't hear anyone trying to place blame on anyone in the administration.
