🚨 ANOTHER FAILURE OF THE REVOLVING-DOOR JUSTICE SYSTEM... and it's been IGNORED by the national media outlets. Time to fix that.
A repeat offender who previously SUCKER-PUNCHED A WOMAN IN THE HEAD, leaving her with a concussion and a year-long recovery, is now accused of terrorizing ANOTHER Austin woman.
Christopher Lewis was arrested again after a Barton Hills resident says he attacked her car while her garage was open and her children were sleeping inside. His latest charge? Misdemeanor criminal mischief with a $1,000 bond.
The woman told FOX 7 that Lewis came down Kinney Avenue around 5:30 a.m., beat on her windows, grabbed the door handles and dented her vehicle while she was sitting inside.
She drove around the block trying to get away, but said Lewis hit the car again. Unable to safely stop and call 911, she leaned on the horn until her husband woke up, closed the garage and told her to keep driving.
“I was so frightened for my family because I couldn’t warn them and I couldn’t call 911,” she said.
But this was not the first woman in the neighborhood to describe a terrifying encounter involving Lewis.
In May 2024, another woman said she was walking along Rabb Road when a man in a hoodie approached and “sucker punched” her in the temple. She said he then stood over her, and she believed he might r\*pe her or k\*ll her before a neighbor’s voice interrupted the attack.
She suffered a concussion and said her recovery took roughly a year. Lewis was later convicted of misdemeanor assault in that case and sentenced to 180 days in jail.
Both women said they believed they were in danger of being k\*lled. The woman from this weekend put it bluntly: “The next time he does it, he’s going to kill someone.”
Local reporting also points to a longer arrest history. FOX 7 says Lewis was arrested in 2024 on a felony possession charge that was later dropped, while court records cited in local coverage show earlier arrests involving possession, theft and criminal trespass, with multiple cases dismissed.
And now he is back in court again on a misdemeanor.
HOW MANY CHANCES DOES SOMEONE GET BEFORE THE SYSTEM TAKES THE WARNING SIGNS SERIOUSLY?
One of the women is now openly calling on city officials, the Travis County District Attorney’s Office and the courts to keep people she considers dangerous off neighborhood streets before someone gets seriously hurt or worse.
Lewis is presumed innocent on the new charge unless proven guilty.
But for the women who say they have already encountered him, the concern is much simpler:
They do not want to find out what happens the NEXT time.
