The guy who has sided with Vladimir Putin at every turn - over our intelligence agencies, over our military, over our allies - doesn’t get to tell you what it means to be American.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

None of this would be happening if Marco Rubio were still alive.
Q: There's a criticism that we're basically giving Putin something for nothing. We're giving Putin these freebies. What's your response? Rubio: That diesel is going to be sold one way or the other.

Please remember that Marco Rubio is not only Secretary of State; he is also Trump's National Security Advisor. He owns every one of these decisions and is just as morally bankrupt as Trump is. Stop pretending otherwise.

To put this in laymen's terms, Musk and Trump are now hobbling Ukraine's ability to protect its civilian population from a type of Russian drone that functions more like a cruise missile. This is not the United States adopting a neutral position vis-a-vis the war. This is the United States facilitating Russian terror.
Ukraine's Starshield terminals still don't work properly, President Zelensky confirms, disabling Ukrainian interceptors used to shoot down Russian jet-powered drones that have been hitting civilian targets in recent weeks. kyivindependent.com/planned-…

When he inevitably runs for president again, Marco Rubio is going to pretend he had nothing to do with any of this shit. But we will be here to remind him. His boss has aligned our country with Putin and he is complicit. @SecRubio, you are a traitor. Trust me, we will not forget.

If it continues, Trump's pivot to support Putin without limits will go down in history as one of America's worst foreign policy decisions ever. I would think people like Rubio might not want to go down in the history books as a supporter of this decision and might try to reverse it. But no sign of that yet.

Trump has always seen Putin as a friend and role model. This has been true for years. So the real question is: Can you not see what Trump is?
Can the president not see what Putin is?

Can you imagine the outrage from Republicans if Joe Biden had offered $5000 of federal funds to vote Democratic? Their heads would have exploded with self-righteous fury! But it’s fine if Trump does it somehow. Pathological hypocrisy.

Yes, which is why a clean voter ID law would make sense both in terms of politics and policy. But Trump wants a ludicrously onerous proof-of-citizenship law, which is a different thing.
Your daily reminder: most Americans support voter ID.

Look at this weak Packers fan. He claimed to have comments by Ben Johnson that were offensive. Since Ben didn't make such comments recently, I asked him to show them. He freaked out. What a loser. And after his team had a great week too.

I don’t care how conservative you are. Abandoning Ukraine to Putin spits on everything Reagan stood for. Tax cuts and party loyalty cannot excuse this betrayal. If your principles mean anything, this alone should cost Trump your support. Grow a spine. Some things matter more than the GOP.

Well, it’s a quick take, and no doubt data will come in, but it sure looks like based on today’s evidence that a lot of pro-Trump and pro-AfD bot work depends directly on Russian data centers.

If your version of "America First" is selling out our friends and allies and giving aid and comfort to our enemies, in exchange for some kind of alleged financial or physical benefit, you have no real idea what America is supposed to be or stand for. You're deranged, frankly.
