We have filed, on behalf of our Palestinian client, a demand for warrants for the leadership of Hamas at the @IntlCrimCourt for the crimes committed by the terrorist government of Gaza against the Palestinian people. @KarimKhanQC and the Office of the Prosecutor cannot say that they truly care about justice if they continue to ignore the blatant crimes committed against the Palestinian people by Hamas. These crimes include numerous crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by Hamas against the Palestinian people. Notably including the war crime of utilizing the presence of civilians or other protected persons as human shields. There has never been a demonstration that the Palestinian's are willing and able to investigate Hamas for these crimes. Hamas' purposeful conduct in Gaza has greatly exacerbated the harm against Palestinian civilians. The unnecessary suffering of the Palestinian people must be accounted for and the ICC cannot claim to care about justice if it remains silent on these crimes. This is an incredibly important question, because the sudden spike of antisemitism in the wake of 10/7 impacts everyone who cares to maintain & defend Western civilization - whether we recognize it or not. That's because @Israel has been characterized by #Hamas + its backers as a "racist, aggressive, colonial project" for years (pic 1, excerpt of Hamas charter from May 2017). It doesn't matter that 🇮🇱 - sorry, the "Zionist project" - doesn't actually warrant any of those labels. It's a messaging campaign, pure & simple. And the target audience for this PR agenda has long been progressives throughout the West. You know, all those crunchy, tree-hugging fascists who are hell-bent on tearing down the "racist, aggressive, colonial project" known as Western civilization & replacing it with their pick of "decolonial" socialist, communist, Marxist, populist sociopolitical structure. As we all know very well, hatred directed toward Jews is by no means a new phenomenon. What IS new, at least in modern times, is how mainstream & socially acceptable antisemitism has become since 10/7. And it has done so as a direct response to the terrorist propaganda campaign that has, for decades by now, gradually cultivated a sense of solidarity among populist progressives in the West & the Palestinian "liberation" movement in the Middle East. The "Palestinian 'liberation' movement" is simply another way of describing Hamas - and yet populist progressives pledge allegiance to THIS cause because it is seen as doing over there - by any means necessary - what they wish they could do in their wildest dreams over here (see pic 2, for one example of this elation from immediately after 10/7). In this way, Israel has emerged as a proxy of sorts for Western civilization. After all, it IS the only Western style democracy in the MENA region - and it has traditionally been the closest partner & ally of Western style democracies in MENA. Until, that is, mere days after the (actual) atrocities perpetrated by Hamas on 10/7. For anyone who may not be particularly familiar with why those atrocities were perpetrated when they were, this brief recap is important to keep in mind for present purposes. At the time, a number of Gulf Arab states were on the steady path toward normalizing ties with 🇮🇱. And normalization would have pushed Hamas, other regional proxies backed by 🇮🇷, and #IRGC itself to the margins of relevance in the region. 🇮🇱 was deeply divided at the time (a level of division that is gradually returning). @JoeBiden had proven himself to be incompetent & ditheringly impotent on the foreign policy front after the catastrophic sudden withdrawal from 🇦🇫 and then the full invasion of 🇺🇦 by 🇷🇺. So the time was deemed right to carry out the plan that had been in the making for several years by committing unspeakable atrocities, thereby giving 🇮🇱 no realistic choice but to respond with overwhelming military force to end the enduring security threat posed by Hamas. If 🇮🇱 succeeded, no more Hamas. If 🇮🇱 failed, normalization would be derailed due to the large-scale armed conflict directed against Arab Muslim groups on several fronts - and Hamas would survive to maintain some governing role in #Gaza even after the conflict. And the terrorist-progressive "solidarity" movement has always been Hamas's best shot at "succeeding" - that is, getting away with 10/7, surviving the ensuing large-scale conflict they knew would ensue, and maintaining some degree of control afterward. To make that happen, they need somebody BESIDES THEMSELVES calling for a ceasefire & an arms embargo against 🇮🇱. Cue the populists progressives throughout the West who dream of tearing down the "racist, aggressive, colonial project" they believe their OWN sociopolitical structures represent. "No one is free until Palestine is free." That's what they mean. Solidarity with Palestinian "liberation" (that is, terrorism) is seen as advancing their OWN cause at home because 🇮🇱 is a proxy for Western civilization abroad. So, Israel is regarded as a proxy for the West. Jews are regarded as a proxy for Israel. And those who want to replace Western civilization with some form of socialist populism now consider hate directed against Jews to be acceptable because Jews are regarded as a proxy for Western civilization. One critical component of this sudden escalation in OPEN antisemitism I haven't directly mentioned yet is the dynamic that brought me personally to this discussion: the language of international law. This is a hitch pin of sorts because international law rhetoric is essential for convincing governments to push for a ceasefire as early as possible AND to implement an arms embargo against 🇮🇱. I intentionally refrained from mentioning international law until near the end of these observations because this is the vulnerability that makes the whole thing possible. Not nearly enough people, understandably, are knowledgeable enough to counter - with precision - the rampant #legaldisinformation that drives the anti-Israel, and anti-Jewish, narratives & sentiment that is being used to justify the sudden explosion of antisemitism throughout the West. That is an area that needs improvement on an industrial scale. Detailed knowledge of international law is essential in order to hold governments to account when they RELY on the language of international law to justify anti-Israel policies while appeasing their rabidly anti-Western progressive + Islamist base. Only when these governments are adequately held to account - where it counts at the ballotbox - can they be voted out of office along with their foreign policy initiatives & domestic anti-Israel rhetoric that only FUELS the rampant rise of antisemitism they make sure to denounce in public messaging when it predictably manifests in an attack on Jews or Jewish interests. Make no mistake. We are at war. For those who care about preserving Western civilization, it is not a war of our choosing. Even so, it is not a forgone conclusion that we will prevail in the end. The anti-Western sentiment that also drives the sudden rise of antisemitism since 10/7 is pervasive in many important social institutions such as the media (pic 3 as but one recent example) and even in our governing structures (pic 4 as but one recent example). But if you care about preserving Western civilization, you need to ALSO care that antisemitism is off the scale. Because for some people, antisemitism is just about hating Jews for being Jewish. That brand of antisemitism has been around for thousands of years. Even so, that's not solely responsible for the sudden rise in antisemitism since 10/7. THAT is driven by anti-Western sentiment with Jews regarded as a proxy for the West. Standing up for those who are wrongfully accused of committing crimes (here, pursuant to international law) as well as those who are deemed RESPONSIBLE for the supposed crimes even though they were not directly involved in the first place is noble & virtuous in its own right. But anyone who takes a stand against anti-Western sentiment manifest as antisemitism by proxy is ALSO actively standing up for those who are wrongfully accused. I am not a Jew. But I absolutely DO care that antisemitism is off the scale. Not ONLY because I care about a community experiencing record levels of hate that is being fomented by disinformation related to my primary area of professional expertise. But ALSO because I care about preserving Western civilization. And if YOU care about the same, then you damn sure better care that antisemitism is off the scale since 10/7. Like it or not, recognize it or not, the two are inextricably linked. #TheMoreYouKnow

Maybe we’d have a better chance of winning those wars if Members of Congress like @RoKhanna didn’t introduce War Powers Resolutions every other day hampering our ability to negotiate because our enemies see Congress limiting the presidents ability to negotiate from strength. This isn’t actually difficult to understand and A LOT of Democrats in Congress have privately told me that they know that each of these WPR’s strengthen’s our enemies negotiating positions and weakens ours. Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Janša on Palestine: We must also be willing to ask difficult questions about how Palestine is discussed and used politically. A majority position does not by itself determine what is right. The right of a democratic state and its people to defend themselves against terrorism must be recognized and upheld not only in the words. Civilian suffering is tragic and must be addressed, but it can never justify terrorism or the pursuit of political objectives through violence.

Secretary Lew is correct. All parties must commit to the 20-Point Plan. It is the only chance to peacefully disarm Hamas, empower a new technocratic government in Gaza, reconstruct lives and livelihoods, and provide real and lasting security for Israel.
