Conan just doing bits to his employees for 18 years and never having a genuine conversation is sort of the vibe I bring to my work place, unfortunately

Are Colbert and Conan actually the bosses? Aren’t head writers or producers the bosses?

Most hosts are also EP and have a say in hiring writers. Much of Jason Zinoman's Letterman book is about him hiring and firing people.

“Mount Rushmore of incompetence” is a truly hilarious insult to 4 people on a couch.

I interned for Conan back in 2007. He does bits for everyone all the time. I’m only 19 at the time, manning the reception desk, Conan strolls up to rifle through the gum basket (there was always a variety of chewing gum at reception), I’m terrified. Conan: Extra gum, is it extra good? Me: um…yeah? 20 years later and I still kick myself for not having anything clever to say in return.

I love Conan, but this would be tough to work with. Everybody needs to be able to thrn it off sometimes.

I love to hear stories about people who work with him but could imagine it being exhausting working with someone who’s always ON

Most of these comments complaining about how Conan was always "on". He was never on. The best ones just are – there's no on or off.

The first real conversation, and that's how you find out he hates your guts now lmao.

Imagine getting heckled by Conan from a moving car while standing in a public street

One sentence about how Steven stoped and chatted and two paragraphs about a comedic genius

conan is the true comedian of the two, clearly using his skills as a defensive shield...

I would take this over whatever a "talk to you as Stephen" is any day.

Maybe Conan recognized the kind of person who would share details of personal exchanges with media outlets years later, and acted accordingly.

Brian Stack is the best! Got to chat with him the handful of Conan sketches I did. Always kind and approachable, and a killer taste in music.

Colbert transitioned to unfunny years ago - Team Conan unless you’re soft

But he really is an albaster ape. I went to college with him. Always very pale.

On a commentary, one of the other Simpson's writers described walking past Conan's office and seeing him alone in his office doing bits.
